Question How close is TISL to going platinum?

Does anyone know how close to one-million albums sold TISL is? In a recent interview this summer, Stevie had said that TISL was close to going platinum. Does anyone know the numbers? (i.e. 999,000 sold) Thanks!

It just kills me that TISL isnt platinum yet. To me, it was easily her best since Bella Donna, and the reviews were for the most part, very positive! It deserved much better sales than it has reached so far.

No, I think last time someone asked on the Billboard Q&A thing it was somewhere around 800,000 copies or so

Wow 4 years later it's still not platinum. Will I have to make trip to Wal-mart
tomorrow to get more copies.I wonder why. Because of this new music craze
is killing her sales or Peer to Peer filesharing robbed her, Zero radio airplay,in my area, Bad or not enough promotion from her record company like the Street Angel album.Hum I wonder why.

Great thread- I was wondering about this too. It bugs the sh*t out of me that records by the likes of the Simpson sisters and Clay Aiken have gone platinum, but not the most recent Stevie or Mac albums. Just tells me how shallow a lot of people's musical tastes are I guess.

I am one of the few who disagree with this. I do not think it is her best since Bella Donna. Street Angel might even be better than this IMO. Let me explain first lol.....

When TISL came out i really loved TISL, Sorcerer, Everyday, Planets, TTFT, Bombay, FFG. They were great. And Now in 05, they just aren't so great anymore. My mom put it in the other day in the car radio and i started skipping 1-2-3-4-5-6-7.......I listened to That Made me Stronger......

The 2 songs that have lasting effect on me are FFG and TISL, but even those are just good. I can't listen to TISL over and over or ill get sick of it. FFG is great live but not in 05 due to her vocal change at the end...grrr....

Default I'm Not Sick Of It, But Understand

I think the same can be said of alot of music. I like TISL, because the vocals are clear and I don't think the production will become dated. In that respect it is like Bella Donna. I see why Stevie calls it her "Masterpiece." She did try to capture something timeless. I had the same reaction and favorite songs. I love the smoldering sound of That Made Me Stronger, but not some of the lyrics. Put the album away for awhile. P.S I wish she would sing Alice live.

I don't know that being a Stevie Nicks fan necessarily demonstrates depth of musical taste, but why do you even care whether her records sell more than anybody else's or not? She's got plenty of money, her concerts are almost always commercial successes, she's clearly not terribly concerned with bringing in new fans... so who cares? As long as she's going out there and releasing music she likes, and you like it too, then what's the difference if it sells 500,000 copies or 2 million?

The simple fact is that teenagers and young adults tend make up the majority of folks who buy CDs, and this is just a demographic that, by and large, Stevie does not appeal to at this point in her career. Nor is she trying to appeal to them. I'm sure she's perfectly content with the amount of business she did with TISL.

Also, just to clarify: as always, gold, platinum and diamond certifications are based on units shipped, not units sold. Why? Beats the hell out of me.
