We're in a 2 story house, so we're ok for moderate flooding. And we left everything packed, just in case. All our food, water, supplies are in boxes on the kitchen table, ready to go upstairs or in the truck, depending on which situation we're faced with.

Luckily, most tornoadoes occur on the east side of a storm. It's still possible I guess, but we have several hallways on the bottom floor that completely close off.

The wind has really kicked up now, and the rain is pelting the aluminum shutters. The lights have flickered a few times, hope that's all that happens. Going through one of these things is horrible without power, especially lighting since the windows are completely covered.

The storm looks like it's going even farther east now, into the Texas/Louisiana border. Those are the people I'm really worried about. Even though it's much weaker than yesterday, it's still very dangerous.

Oh, Chuckie- I'm so sorry you had to go through all that crapola!!

Is your mom feeling better? Carbon monoxide yuck poisoning is the worst. I'm glad you're safe at home and I'm sure everything will be okay. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to be stuck out on the highway when the winds pick up.

If I could reach through the DSL line to huggy squish you, I would.
