I would have to agree. Maybe Stevie does choose to simplify her reasons for breakups but so what? And the idea of Stevie and Mick makes me shudder anyway. Poor Lindsey.

Oops - I thought paperflowers said that (sorry PF )

I was not posting that to be hateful. I thought maybe the "with" changed the context as in one the friend has something wrong with them and in the the other they do not. That is all

The reason Stevie had no lasting relationships and babies is because she was ON DRUGS. I hate her denial of this. I really do.

Stevie is in denial of a lot of things. She sometimes uses her career as an excuse for why she doesn't have time, doesn't have a relationship, or this or that. There are definately deep issues there. Hey, we all have our issues.

However, Stevie has always kept very close ties with her family. And as such, fans are far more aware of her family then that of any other members of the band.

And the drug issue? Her fellow band members all had their fair share of drugs, yet have managed to have relatively stable, healthy relationships and families. Stevie has been drug-free for more than a decade now, yet no lasting significant other ( her family and friends collectively fill that role). That's clearly a lifestyle choice --one that has a lot of variables. But at this point in time I don't think drugs is one of them.

Or maybe the fact that Mick was still married, and then fell in love with yet someone else, that was neither Stevie, nor his current wife, had something to do with it?

Really, who are we to judge?

Not to mention, even though it seems to be a standard 'excuse' of hers, I think there could definately be some validity to the 'not having family b/c of FM'. That's a lot to take on, a band lifestyle, touring, AND kids! I couldn't see myself in her shoes, being able to balance both.

Regardless of the reason, she's the one who has to live with it.

Besides, I jsut can't picture her with Mick in the long run anyway!

Really I don't think anybody cares why they broke up. Aren't we all just glad that they did. Plus Lindsey would have probably kicked her ass if he had found out the hard way they were doing it.

Isn't it such a beautiful gift to be able to know everything of other's people relationships and have the capacity to judge what is right and what is wrong without even knowing them?

Stevie's past, her love life and her life/career decisions are her own private matters. One thing I do think is great is the fact that she's mentored so many of these younger singers. Maybe that's what she was meant to do - who could be a greater mentor to a young singer than Stevie? (Of course, I may be biased...)

And everyone definitely has their issues. You wouldn't have to wait 5 months to get an appointment with a psychiatrist if they didn't!

Don't be so silly. Of course they're not. That's why we discuss every aspect of her life on Fleetwood Mac boards, love.

What about the fact that Mick was also a heavy drug user? It's not like Stevie was the only one with a severe drug problem. In fact, Mick was hooked on coke longer than Stevie, if I recall.

I thought Stevie beat herself up when she was with Mick because he was technically married at the time, with two kids, and she hated being the "other woman".

I, for one, do not believe in sweeping all the obviously unpleasant things about Stevie under the rug. She's talked about Mick quite a bit in interviews. I still think the relationship was drug-fueled. They had their coke glasses on when they fell. But if they really loved each other, they could have been together, and the band would have survived. I think Mick and Stevie, clean and sober, would have been a damned good team. They certainly look adorable together. A Giant and a Wood Nymph.

From my perspective I just can't know what was all about, because I don't know the people and I wasn't there.

Haha! I love that Rolling Stone cover where she is drapped over his shoulders. It makes me think she's going to take off flying, like Tinkerbell.

but if its drug fueled, then why does she still state to this day that mick is her "soul mate" and one of her "great loves" ?
i think that (granted, just an opinion, and that doesnt count much) stevie truely loves/loved mick(forwhatever reason) but being for his marriage, the band, the drugs, issues with lindsey, etc... they ended it... either way... as long as they are happy now, i really dont care who slept with who... but thats just me...

hugs
