I think he is listening - he was looking at the other guys, just not Mr. FEMA.

The ending of that interview chilled me to the bone. Words are of no use at this point.

I saw this live last night. It was beautiful, Anderson did not back down one iota. Is this woman insane? Thanking politicians for sending their thoughts & condolences when the people who voted for her are dead or still suffering? What an assh*le.

I just read this on CNN.com. Is this guy for real?

Federal Emergency Management Director Michael Brown told CNN that federal officials were unaware of the crowds at the convention center until Thursday, despite the fact that city officials had been telling people for days to gather there.
I thought I had heard that the Superdome was full and people were going to the convention center on late Tues early Wed - the head of FEMA didn't know this but I did? WTF?

Thanks Maria. I linked everyone to it. It is something else. That guy must feel so helpless right now.

Now they are talking on CNN...why did they just show us that briefing? They basically said that this seems like something that could have been done in the White House or even on the plane, and that this just looked like some kind of PR thing to show them "working together".

How could they not know about this? It reeks of bull****. There have been reports for the past two days that have talked about all of the dead bodies and starving people at the convention center.

It's astonishing, isn't it? This is a huge wake up call for America. Our own government can't even save us.

All of it is PR, right down to Bush's "casual" attire and his carefully rolled-up sleeves that are meant to express what a caring, regular joe he is who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

And that raises the question: What if this had been some kind of terrorist attack? Are we really as safe as this administration is claiming?

Or what if we were attacked by terrorists during this disaster while the military has it's attention on all of this? Scary thought.

That looked like BAD community theater. What a pointless time-wasting exercise. He can try, and get all his friends to try to spin this back into his favor. But it's not going to work.

The video finally worked for me, and I just finished it. Holy ****. I wish they could air it fully on the news....unedited.

Yes, I agree, and I now know why you love him so much. I'm sickened by any journalist sensationalizing this, or putting on that stupid effing TV smile! What could they be thinking??? Cooper has a lot of empathy and class.

MSNBC just put up one of their famous countdown (or, countup) clocks on screen to show how long it has been since the hurricane, with little to no Federal help.

4 days, 4 hours, 35 minutes ... and counting.

MSNBC...talk about sensationalism. Didn't they have a "countdown to war" ater Bush said that Saddam had "48 hours" to disarm or whatever?
