Default Another Stevie Drawing...(shameless, huh?)

Wow, everyone's artwork is fantastic. I enjoy the seeing the nuances of Stevie in each drawing! I thought I would share a picture I drew back in 1990...yup, when I was just a kid myself! I haven't picked up a pencil in years but the artwork I've been looking at is so inspiring....so, I hope you all don't mind I posted this...sometimes, it's just helpful to get back into the habit of being creative in different ways. Um, blast away or be kind...but thanks for looking! I tried to find a thread for this and couldn't, so I started one (again, probably.)

Thank you, Eclipse...I do think I will actually. I know the sketches are somewhat rudementary, but the fun of it is getting started again. It's a real outlet...not just Stevie, per se, but drawing many things.

Both of these sketches were freehand and it's a challenge no matter what your caliber is!

Anyone else have drawings or is this another thread I've bypassed completely?

Really nice work! Did you take lessons or are you just a natural? I can draw cartoons pretty well, but with human faces/bodies, I'm a total failure.

You should definitely pick up drawing again!

Thanks! Really, I mean that! Does the ego good but in a way that wants to get those pencils sharpened again.

I didn't take any formal art lessons with drawing. Just something I guess I had. Started doodling when I was in high school and when I found Stevie...well things just started really expressing itself on paper.
But I'm a complete flop with cartoons!

Your drawings are beautiful! I am an OK artists, but all of my Stevie drawings have been flops. I love looking at other peoples, though. Thanks for posting.

Count your blessings, anyone that can draw, paint, sketch, doodle, etc.

I am challenged by stick people-Cannot draw a straight line
or a crooked one, for that matter

I highly depend on erasures! That and something to rub the pencil charcoal lines down with, like a tissue. I appreciate the feedback and I'm starting a new challenge this weekend with those old pencils of mine.

I do that, too. Execpt I use my fingers. My hands are black by the time I am down with a drawing, but I love the shadowy affect you can get, and it makes for great shading.

WildInTheWind, do you have any of yours you would post? The ones you see here are very old...done about 15 years ago, and I also swear by the charcoal finger smudge effect! I sprayed the drawings with this matte finish but it turned them slightly yellowish, even though it wasn't supposed to. But, probaby because they are fairly old, effects to the environment will take hold.

Thanks guys for being kind! I know there are many other far superior arteests out there, but it's still nice to share!

Are the eyes on the first Stevie pic pretty accurate? The hardest thing to capture are eyes on anything...

Last pic...these two always seemed like they could be perfect for each other.

I think the eyes are very accurate. I can never do eyes. I have never been good at people because of the eyes. I don't really have anything I could post. I have a pencil drawing ( I use the finger smudge affect w/plain old pencil, too) of the buckinghamnicks album cover I did when I was, oh....15? But it's pretty bad. Lindsey looks like he has no neck and Stevie's eyes look like alien's eyes. I haven't drawn anything in many years. Kid, job, house, ect...has left me with no time...and feeling a bit uninspired. The best drawing I did in the past few years was a pencil drawing of my daughter on a sticky note at work. LOL. Slow day. What is this last pic of? Good drawing, kinda scary at the same time.
