Have you heard Sinéad O'Connor's version of Chiquitita? I like it too.

ABBA in general! I Am The City is a totally cheesy song but I love it!

I've got nothing but love for Chiquitita...that marching beat at the end? Gold!

Safety Dance - Men Without Hats...definitely

And I know this is reaaalllly cheesy but I totally love D'ya Think I'm Sexy - Rod Stewart.

Those are just two random ones. There are SO many cheesy songs I love.
I'm ABSOLUTELY With you on 1-2-3! That's HILARIOUS! I heard that song the other day and was totally laughing at it's loveable cheesiness.

But I can't agree with you on "The Promise". The lyrics in that song are so beautiful. I don't find it cheesy at all. It makes me all weepy.

"I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right words to say.
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be.
But if you'll wait around awhile, I'll make you fall for me,
I promise you, I promise you I will."

Sigh...

OH MY GOD! SERIOUSLY AMBER!!! I totally have a story for the song Downtown by Petula Clark.

So, I'm at a used record store (a really really good one here) and I'm checking out the singles section and find a Downtown remix album. I pick it up and have an instant heart attack, which I still don't understand to this day, 'cause honestly, I don't really even LIKE that song! So, I run over to my friend Rachel (Red) and she flips out too! Weird. So, I bought it and the two of us flipped out all the way home. Again, neither of us really care about this song, so, it's still totally baffling. We put it in the ol' stereo and give it a listen! TERRIBLE!!! Like awful gay anthem stuff. All ntz-ntz-ntz-ntz. It was awful! Yet, the story is still amusing to me!

that's weird...
but...
"ntz-ntz-ntz-ntz"? I've really been trying to figure out a way to spell that.

oh, and Macfanken?
Islands in the Stream does qualify as cheesy.
