Cher?? Meh. She's never really done anything for me one way or the other. As far as I'm concerned she's only had ONE good song in her entire career, "Heart of Stone"- and even that one isn't comparable to Stevie's minor-middling stuff. Her voice is great, but she doesn't write and her choices of material over the years borderline on laughable.

Madonna? She's hit and miss. I have grown up with that chick during all my teenage/adult life. Her first album? "Lucky Star" is about all there is. Like A Virgin? Meh. True Blue? Okay- a little too poppy. Like A Prayer??? Now, we're getting somewhere. "Express Yourself" kicks ass and the title track is stirring. Then we get The Best Of, with "Vogue" and "Rescue Me"- two of her best dancefloor tracks, ever. Erotica and Bedtime Stories are her bookend best albums. And then it all goes downhill from there.

You don't like Ray of Light? I think that album is great. But then again, my favorite Madonna album is American Life which is hardly a popular opinion.
