Default Nicksfix Condolences

The Nicksfix has now been updated. There now is a form if you want to send the Nicks Family your condolences regarding the loss of Jess Nicks.
There is also a link to make a donation to the Arizona Heart Foundation.
You might have to refresh the page to get the info, however. Just thought I would pass this along.

Exclamation Thanks for the info...

Pattie...I definitely made a donation because I need all the good karma that one person can have at this time.

I am going to make one later. I am going to send a note off too but I will do that when I am a bit more awake. I just remember when my Mom passed away how much it meant to me when someone expressed their condolences.

I just sent a message to the Nicks family. Thanks for telling me that. I just saw the AZ heart foundation donation link earlier. I plan on doing that as well.

I have a pretty serious heart condition and have donated to the Arizona Heart Foundation a couple of times. (through the donor tickets as well) It is a great cause and an excellent way to honor Jess and Stevie. It is much better than sending flowers, which she might never actually see. Send a donation in her or Jess's name.....that would actually probably comfort her much more than flowers.

Of course I will try to think of something to say to the Nicks family. I think Stevie was somewhat prepared for her Father's passing but that does not make it any easier. I definately have had her and the family in my thoughts for weeks. After hearing of his passing, I started thinking of all of the tough times Stevie has helped ME through. I hope she is surrounded by love and can feel the support of her fans at this most difficult time.

I want to share what I wrote with you all...particularly because it describes as well an eerie thing that just happened to me tonight and my feelings in general right now

Quote:
Dear Barbara, Stevie, Chris, Lori and Jessica,

I know words right now rarely go a way to making things better, but I think it appropriate that I tell you I care and I am sorry for your loss, giving that Stevie has so many times helped me through trouble and heartache.

It is after midnight where I live (Australia)and I am in bed. I am only now writing this because I have been woken up; my television just came on by itsself, and playing over it was "Somewhere over the rainbow". This was the song played at my uncle's funeral two years ago when he suicided, and reminded me of the heartache you must be experiencing now.

I cried when I heard this song because of its significance, but I remember how it was the song of Stevie helped heal the deepest wounds of my heart at the time.

Barbara, Stevie, Chris, Lori and Jessica; I did not know your husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather, but I know he as affected my life with his family and the love he clearly has for them. I also know Jess affected the lives on many others more directly through his charity work where he has undoubtedly saved lives through his work (and will continue to do so).

I am lucky to still have both my parents, and I will hug them longer and cherish the moment more now being reminded that the hug won't last forever, but the love will.

Barbara, Stevie, Chris, Lora and Jessica;
You are all in my thoughts now, and I pray for your strength.

Love,
Tynan

It was very freaky what happened at I know find it hard to sleep at the moment. It came on at midnight (Dad must've set the timer by accident) and all of a sudden I hear "Somewhere over the rainbow", it could have been any other song and it wouldn't have been so shattering but that... It turns out it was a biography on Judy Garland...but imagine it..exact moment its plying our TV turns on...that special song

That was very beautiful and touching what you wrote to the Nicks family. I wanted to mention something also about the tv thing..I truly believe that things happen for a reason and your tv coming on and Somewhere over the Rainbow playing is reallly some sort of sign for you.Our loved ones never leave us,truly and perhaps your uncle or your guaridan angel was reaching out to you to give you comfort.Rainbows have a special meaning as do butterflies for our beloved ones who have gone ahead of us.Smile knowing that there is angel close by you...

O.K. I normally don't get really freaked out over anything...But, last week, I sent Stevie a picture that I had taken in Seward, Alaska while on a boat tour. The day was sunny and warm when we started...after about an hour or so, a storm blew in...we couldn't turn back because it was too far. The sea was swirls of dark and green. I went outside to take a picture (everybody else was "green" and close to losing it) and in front of the boat was the most beautiful rainbow I had ever seen. Then a sea lion floated by, on his back, and "waved" to us. I knew that everything was going to be o.k.
Rainbows....divine reassurrance.

Kelly, I just wanted to respectfully ask why you seemed so harsh in the initial thread regarding her father's death. I promise I'm not asking this with any kind of malice at all. I was just really surprised at the way you reacted at first; it seemed like you were angry with us for expressing sympathy and thought that was entirely inappropriate. I'm genuinely curious about what you and some others thought was wrong with that thread and what people were saying in it.
