It seems to me that there are only a couple of people who bash her consistently. And they're just egged on by the people who are obsessive about her.

My annoyance really has nothing to do with this particular conversation or this particular letter to Peter. It's just frustration over the divisiveness of the fan community in general, which has been annoying me since the very beginning of all of this.

Personally, I have no real problem with her journal entry. I appreciate her thinking of Peter, as I have been in the last couple of days. But am I tired of constantly hearing the retread of her 9/11 experience, and how it was her personal mission to heal the world with her songs? Yep.

I agree you dont have to wear shawls and burn Nag Champa (altho i did burn some the other day! lol) to be a fan....being a "fan" is different for every person... I dont think pointing out that Stevie is a little self absorbed (probably unconciously) is anything bad... I think it was nice for her to share that with fans, as I have enjoyed all of her journal entries....She was obviously very affected by the 9/11 tragedies, and seems like talking about them helps her...It seems to me when anyone mentions 9/11 these days it's looked down upon, like OH GOD HERE WE GO TALKING ABOUT 9/11 AGAIN...It's a huge part of history, a terrible tragedy, and something that really affected people---even people not directly involved.. Peter Jennings was very much a part (for me anyway) of the whole thing surrounding 9/11...he was there, and something about him has always comforted people...

I'm constantly amazed at the people who are TIRED of this she does, or whatever...but continue to read them..if you are tired of her retread of her 9/11 experiences, then you should probably never read her journal entries again...because that's what most seem to be about....seems easy to me..if you are tired of hearing about---DONT HEAR ABOUT IT

Yes, that's true. I really liked that. The "...your voice sang on..." part made me smile. You have a point there.

It's not even about picking a band member. It's shippers vs. non-shippers, wyndchildren vs... uh, normal people, the bitter smart asses vs. the naive, the Stevie Haters/Lindsey Lovers vs. the Stevie Lovers/Lindsey Haters, etc. And that's before you get into personal cliques. It's all quite stupid.

I mean, thinking about trying to explain some grudge you have with someone here to someone in real life. "Well, see, ~*~gypsybelladonnarhisara~*~ said that Stevie's Reeboks were ugly, and that she takes herself too seriously. Now it's war." It all gets so stupid.

Since Carne got banned there's not been too much Stevie-bashing.
I don't think it's bad to sometimes be critical of her if its warranted.

I know. I get so sick of it. And it never fails. Someone posts something Stevie says or does and whaddya know, someone makes a stab at it. **** - a post about Stevie's letter to Peter has turned into a 3 page post about anything but that. It's stupid; which is why I try to post how I feel about the actual post and then not get caught up in this mess. Every good intention Stevie had in that letter is gone. I never really read it the way some apparently did, but I can see why they would think that, but I really don't think that was her intention; I think it was more of a way for her to connect to him and him to her...move on. Sheesh.

Bless his heart

I, too, agree that being critical of her and other members of her band and the Mac is just all part of it. It is just that sometimes it seems people just wait for the opportunity and do it with glee.

To be fair to Hayley, I came into this thread expecting Stevie just to be passing on her condolences not talking about 9/11.

It's exhausting. Not to mention the fights people get into about real life things as well.

Every time I try to explain one of the Ledge fights to someone I know in real life, they just look at me like I'm crazy. Usually there's some kind of comment like "Do the people on the Ledge work or go to school?" Oh well. That's the Ledge.

True - but the fact is she did express her condolences and then she told us of how she related to Mr. Jennings exactly how he helped her through a rough time. I mean if she had used some other horrible world even instead of 9/11, would it have been better?

Right. That's what gets me.

I see your point as well, Hayley - I guess I'm somewhere in the middle. - I mean there's one LEdgie who has repeatedly said stuff like "She's not human" "she's really an angel" or some such nonesense -that FREAKS me out -and annoys the **** out of me.

I don't think one has to burn Nag and drape themselves in chiffon whilst listening to STevie - I sure as hell don't. I just don't understand the constant negativity about her.

WHy post in the Stevie forum is ALL you ever post is negative? I really don't get it. Yes there is good, yes there is bad - I choose to focus on the good - I guess the "bad" doesn't really bother me all that much.

Oh - and the shipper thing - totally don't get that either....

Am I the only person who had never heard of Peter Jenning?

Whatever she writes... I enjoy taking a peek at her journal entries. I wish she would post more of them
