Default Henley at the Heart Benefit

I heard a local radio DJ say this morning that Don has backed out of the benefit in Arizona, then they played a clip of him saying something about having "prior commitments to the Eagles." Has anyone else heard this?

Oy vey! I can just see Stevie right now, in her bathrobe, rollers and bunny slippers, frantically looking through her rolodex for some other "friends" to take his place. Up on the wall is a note-to-self that says "Must. Not. Trust. Eagles." She finds Chris Isaak's number under "I," and she begins to dial his number. But she is startled to find herself starting to hum the chorus of Mojo Nixon's "Don Henley Must Die." She looks up at the mirror and a large, evil grin appears as the fluorescent bulbs reflect the sheen of a copious helping of Creme de la Mer smoothed onto her unmade face. "...don't let him get back together with Glenn Frey..."

But I digress.

Stevie should call Sting & Matchbox 20. I don't know what the former would do, but the latter would come running.

Why does she call the same damn guys every time she does benefits? Or is that sort of like asking Why does that dog sniff around at the fire hydrant?

Ummm, David? Matchbox 20 is on hiatus...or broken up...I don't know which , but in any case, Rob Thomas is doing a solo thing.

Oh how I would LOVE THAT. Along time ago...before the Wild Heart came out, I read a blurb in Rolling Stone that said Bruce wrote a song called Take it to Heart for Stevie's upcoming solo album. I guess she didn't care for it because I have yet to read about a demo of this song.

Stevie opens a box and reaches for the "Don Henley" voodoo doll...
That will show him not to mess with my benefit or tour dates she says....

This sounds really odd and seems like the DJ has gotten some of his wires crossed.

The Eagles aren't doing anything until Sunday when rehearsals start so perhaps he's talking about the CO Springs show which the promoter...not DH cancelled or Don cancelling the second half of the Don/Stevie tour.

I also can't believe Don would wait until the day of the show to back out. He would have known what his Eagles committments were when he booked the date.
