Default Like or Dislike: Leather & Lace

Eh. It's OK. Maybe I've just heard it too many times (although that explanation doesn't fit with Edge for me.)

I don't think that the vocal or the music are that great. The lyrics are pure sentimental cheese, IMO. "Give to me your leather, take from me my lace." Ugh. I'll sing along to it but I never belt it out & get all emotional. I usually don't skip any songs, but I think I've skipped this one a few times.

Positives - I do think Stevie & Don harmonize beautifully on the chorus. And I do LOVE the In Concert version with the girls.

Sorry, I couldn't post a poll again for some reason.

It's ok, I also have heard it to much. It did not age as well as some of the other either.

'Tis okay. Although the lyrics are cheesy, it is well-written. They sound nice harmonizing.

ok, I just had to come out of lurker status(I am at work-too hard to stay logged in)to post a reply---I just love this song-cheesy or not I have loved it since the first time I heard it!For me, there are never enough times to hear it. I know I am amongst a minority--but "give to me your leather and take from me my lace" does something for me!

It's a little hokey and I despise Henley. Stevie sounds great on it though.

Love Leather & Lace! It's a sexy song with beautiful harmony. Bella Donna doesn't have a single song on it that I don't love! Okay, so I have an emotional attachment to anyting that came out when I was in high school.

"You in the moonlight with your sleepy eyes - could you ever love a man like me?" Why yes Don, I think I could.

I like it. I adore the one with Sharon and Lori. I also love the master of it with Sharon singing. Very cool!

I really like it, while I understand how some may find it overly sweet to the point that its corny, I personally don't think it crosses the line. It's a beautiful song, the harmonies are to die for, and the entire first verse just really does something for me, especially the line "I search only for something I can't see" Maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic?

I love Leather and Lace. It is one of my favs. For me, it never gets old, and seeing it live, with Don and Stevie singing together, was a dream come true.

I like it a lot, although it's my least favorite on BD.

I grew up a Waylon and Jessi fan, and wish they had recorded it as planned.

I like it a lot. Nice, gentle song that got plenty of airplay. My favorite version is the video/three women together. I know a lot of casual listeners who call this song their favorite of Stevie's.

Eh its OK. She does a really good vocal on this one, but its just an average song, and I dont mind not getting to see it on the Gold Dust Tour, thats for sure.

I really cannot stand this song. I don't like any versions of it. It is up there with Desert Angel for me
