No. I only go to see Stevie Nicks/Mac, apparently. Cause it always costs so goddamned much. Wish I had, though. You loved it, I take it?

Hmmmm...tough one...

John Mellencamp, I guess is one.

Actually, the entire "country" genre...loathed country until I joined a country band in 1994 (the need for $$ makes musicians do the most unlikely things)...then after a few years I got burnt out on the whole country "scene" (not so much the music, but the music brought back the bad memories)...just within the last three or four years have I gotten back into listening to country again...and with an appreciation that I NEVER had before.

A LOT of people are saying that. I was one of them too. I never liked Mellencamp until I got older. When his 2001 album came out with Peaceful World I started diggin him. I really like the album he put out in 1996 called Mr. Happy Go Lucky. Genius!

The Eagles. I cannot even tell you how much I hated them. My dad would always play their music, and it just killed it for me. Something made me love them one day and I can't stop listening to them!

You tend to go back on the music you were raised on. Artists like Ronnie Milsap, The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Buddy Guy, all of that stuff my parents listened to I really disliked...now I like it, and can appreciate it.

It takes me awhile to get into people sometimes. Sometimes I'm just behind everyone else. I discovered Ani DiFranco about two years ago. What was I doing before? I discovered PJ Harvey a few months ago. And I just started thinking I need to buy a Tori Amos CD a couple of weeks ago. I'm just slow. When I was a little kid all I listened to was Carly Simon, practically, and then when I was a teenager I listened to almost nothing but crap. I have to catch up.
I can send you my favorite Emmylou songs if you want to give her another try.

I love Carly Simon, have every one of her albums. Not too enthused about her new one, though, I must admit.

Me too. It took me until Actung Baby to really like them.

I've become more open to the 1940's/torch song/Rat Pack as I've gotten older. It's so atmospheric. Makes me want to stay out late on a hot summer night drinkin' and smokin' too many cigarettes.

That's really weird to me. I remember the only new album my mom bought, ever, was Uh Huh. I just always liked him. Although I don't have his newer albums, but my dad does, so I've heard them. He's totally regular, just rock, but somehow it's really good regular rock. Uh Huh is really good if you want another JM album.

Preach it. And who ever is ready for this jelly? Beyonce was the inspiration for the phrase "she's got it goin' on".

I think she is hot and good, too, but they were on SNL a month or so back, and one of their songs made me barf. Sesly, it was soooo gross. It was all about doing stuff for your boyfriend, and gross things like that. And it was really slow, and just rote R&B sounding. I have to admit, though, besides bootylicious, her favorite performance of mine is in Goldmember. "Foxy Cleopatra!!!" okay, so I'm a sucker for an Afro, but still! I thought she was good.

She was very funny. They made her boobs look gigantic somehow in that film.

I hate those barfy songs. I like their cover of Emotions, the Bee Gees tune, yes really.

I'm over the moon for Destiny's Child's "Lose My Breath"... but, to me, the rest is pretty much dreck.
