Not to make you feel bad, but I almost teared up when he did "Four Strong Winds."

The way this thing was broadcast was totally screwed up. They should have gotten a lot better coverage from the networks.

George Michael showing up to sing with Paul

U2
Madonna
Rob Thomas of what I did get to see of him
My hubby loved Pink Floyd being there
Showing the girl that was so ill when she was young and Madonna holding her hand while singing. That was cool. Don't remember her name but she was a beautiful young woman.

Did I say George Michael. LOL!! In the 80's, I loved that guy and got to touch his boots during a concert. I guess it would be the same as touching Stevie's legwarmers in concert I was just happy he showed up.

I didn't see Duran Duran either. We taped the show and re-watched it again. The way the interviewers and VJ's kept interrupting was confusing and just messed up everything

Pink Floyd...it was when they played Breathe that I realzied the magnatude of this event...totally amazing..."a moment"...

Madonna...the girl still has it...what's not to love?...she's the dirt...

Annie Lennox...she's pure class...she's an original...God, I love her...

Velvet Revolver...can Scott be any hotter? Slither blew me away...

Dave Matthews Band...quite possibly the best band on the road right now...

The Who...they gave me goosebumps...they rock...true legends...fabulous...

I posted this before, but I really meant it when I said that this was one of the best Saturdy afternoon's that I've had in a very long time...

I know. Once every twenty years isn't quite enough.

What made me sad, was the fact that MTV and VH1 only showed performances from Philly and London mostly.

Also, I beleive LInkin Park got WAY too much air time, their were better artists who deserved it.

how live 8 increases 3rd world despair:

india or no india, i had to watch this event, so after an extensive search, i found outside the village a punjabi hotel, which is the only one here that provides rooms with TV (which costs 4 times more than regular ones but nevermind), so i switched one luxury (hot water) for another (cable!), thinking i beat the system.
by the time the concert in london started, i already had 6 guests there, all gathering around a 15" tv set, screaming with anger about the poor programming choices of hindu tv execs.
the only way to see something was on BBC World's coverage. in our collective despair, we all drowned our sorrow with what thing which the chinese-english war in the 19th century was named after. i guess i'm gonna have to download everything when i'm back home.

I loved to see Brian Wiilson singng Good Vibrations!Actually he sounded like he was almost dead and it wasn't as good as the Beach Boys 20 years ago on Live Aid, but hey, it's Good Vibrations!!
And of course, who didn't love to see Pink Floyd! It looked like Roger and Nick had most fun, which is interesting to see, because they started talking to each other again like 2 years ago! I hope they will go on tour again (I don't really know if I want a new solo album, or something that will destroy my illusions of Pink Floyd as "The Band"!)
Annie Lennox was amazing! She is the only one who can proudly say that she never looked better before (and Why? was amazing of course)!
I have only seen "One" by U2, that's what they showed here, but it was the right song for them to do!
Did anyone really saw the Cornwall part of Live 8 with Peter Gabriel? They didn't show much of it, but I would've loved to see more of this!

Yeah, t was a great show, but I hated the german broadcast, they always switched and concentrated too much on the Berlin part of Live 8! For example, I couldn't see the full R.E.M. set, because she showed a german act there!

OT... sorry... but I'd suggest if you ever have a chance again to see her live, it's well worth the wad of cash. I saw her on the Who's That Girl tour in 1987 from 5th row on the floor, and I swear, I can still feel the pounding in my chest of the bass and remember the feeling of the entire floor standing up on their seats jumping up and down. It was wild. One of the best shows of my life. Saw her a couple more times through the years, too - once from VERY far back, and it was still amazing. She is a true professional and pure talent. As she proved yesterday at Live 8, she never gives a half-assed performance. There's a reason she is still as huge as she is 20 years later....

Brian has actually had several strokes and finally has a debilitating mental illness under control.
I give him HUGE props for going out and playing. And I think he sounds great. The guy's a freaking genius.
I really enjoyed his set, even though it was not technically perfect.
