What I liked about it, even though I guess it was cartoonish, is that it wasn't bright and primary colored cartoonish like the other ones. It was dark cartoon, which is better, IMO. It makes it less overwhelming to me. But I love the Batman animated series, too. I'm actually looking forward to this new batman being less cartoonish.

No, I don't think Keaton hammed it up, I meant the villains. Keaton was fine and I think he's a great actor, but I don't think he was the best Batman and I'm still waiting for him to make a sequel to Beetlejuice, dammit.

Nicholson annoyed the **** out of me. He played himself on a crack binge in that movie. He's one of those actors, to me, like Meryl Streep, where you see enough of their movies and eventually everything seems rote and stale.

I've never seen the animated show. I was thinking about Mark Hamill as The Joker for the second one of this new Batman series and then read that he actually DOES do the voice of The Joker on the show.

Hmm...I see your point. I think the thing that held Keaton back is probably is physical stature. When it comes to superheroes you kind of have to "look the part"....especially with a character like Superman.

I thought Nicholson was genius in As Good As it Gets.

No Way! Wow. but he can't act, can he? That will be interesting. The animated show is good. I mean, the plots are regular, but I really like the way it looks...very....something...shadows and dark, and just pretty cool. Very clean lines, too.

I actually met Mark Hamill a few weeks ago! We talked about Ep III, and he was very cool.

That and I thought he was a bit too pensive in a lot of scenes in the first one. By the time the second rolled around, he was shafted for Pfeiffer, Devito, and Walken, so there wasn't much to do with the character.

Me, too! I hated the movie, but thought he was brilliant. Especially when he told off Kinnear's nurse, I was in hysterics.

He's good in comedies these days. About Schmidt is just about one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

I'll have to check it out sometime, I know it airs during the day on some local stations. I haven't seen Hamill in much, to be honest, but he just has that look to him, you know? They're signed up to do two more Batmans, so I hope they're as good as the new one, which is definitely on my list of all-time favorite movies.

That's cool! How did he like Episode III? Compared to the other prequels, he must have thought it was Citzen Kane.

I see your point on that one too...but that's the character. He's very brooding and dark. The mistake they made with the first one was by giving him some closure on the death of his parents by killing the Joker. In fact, in the comics, the Joker has nothing to do with his parents death. Besides, Keaton just LOOKED SO COOL in the outfit! I found these awesome pics a few days ago online that I'd never seen.

His exact words were that he was "glad the story had come full circle and it was good to see many of the characters, like the Emperor, live up to their potential."
