As far as the ticket sales go, I'd say that crowds of 5,000 to 7,000 in most markets are probably what promoters are expecting from this tour. I agree ticket prices could be cheaper and ARE in many markets (Top ticket prices for the 19,000 capacity Target Center in Minneapolis are $63 dollars and go all the way down to $18). I really don't think this tour is selling badly at all especially cosidering the mammoth FM tour of the last 2 years. The same thing happened when Stevie embarked on Enchanted with it being so close to the end of The Dance tour. Last edited by rianbay1; 06-28-2005 at 01:30 AM.. |

But, yeah. I want to see everyone at their most inspired, creative, and highest potential. whatever it takes. But I am not immune to anyone's presence, and any fabulous show they put on, as well. Which I think we would agree all parties are capable of. ![]()

Well I am just going to say it. It is on Stevie's and/OR her managment's part. I have heard Stevie mention many times how she needs to save for retirement because she wasn't like Lindsay, getting paid as a producer and also living below her means...
She SHOULD be playing places like The Orpheum in Boston like Tori Amos..... Its kind of a greed thing, and her ticket prices are ridiculous. |

Somehow I have a hard time believing Stevie is in this for the money, especially at this point in her career. She seems to really be enjoying doing this tour and if she wanted to retire I'm sure she could have done it years ago. At least after The Dance, if not before. Plus, the money raked in for Landslide alone (Given all Fleetwood Mac, Smashing Pumpkins, and Dixie Chicks versions, which all got/get massive airplay) would be WAY more than any producers fee. Hasn't it been established that although the artist may have some say in ticket prices that they are determined, in the end, by the promoters? This is how I understand it to be. Not just in Stevie's case, but in the case of any substantial touring artist. AND, again not all markets are $125 a ticket some are priced $65 - $75 for top tickets and go all the way down to $20 which sustantiates even more that someone other than Stevie is determining ticket prices. |

Still, changing it up that way is more inventive than anything Stevie's done perhaps since the Bella Donna shows. JMO, of course.
