I think they meant criminal charges, which are different than a civil suit where it is not the damage to the state that is being addressed - it is the actual damage to the victim. Maybe the time has expired for him to file suit - I do not know Cailf. law on this.

I know, they were discussing the civil suit. They said the victim just wants it to be completely over.

earlier in the trial, the victim said he wasnt aware of the possibility of a civil suit........personally, I dont think that will happen, that would only prove the naysayers right (that all they were after was $$$) but, obviously, I can be wrong

I predict there will be no civil suit, and if there is, it's only because some greedy lawyer will convince the kids creepy, greedy & dishonest mother to proceed with it.

Ever since this whole MJ thing started months and months ago, I just have never believed he was guilty of anything.

And no matter what anyone here or anywhere else thinks, none of us were there, and none of us know the truth, and none of us should judge the guy for somehting we truly know nothing about firsthand.

To their defense, it is not the easiest thing to put on a crystal clear case - a la W. Ryder's prosecution. In this case, all of their witnesses were either directly refuted and/or it was shown that monetary gain could have been involved. I would NEVER have brought this case to trial. I would have waited for a better victin. The one thing out of all of this is if MJ were a true ped. there should be many, many more victims as it is rare just to have two over 20 years. Hopefully, the dectectives did their work snooping around trying to find them.
