Yeah, I too was surprised to hear that not many people knew this song OR refer to it as a Tom Petty song. We older folks know that it is The Byrds and Tom Petty only covered it. I did not get to see them do this at my show, however. Those of you who get to hear it should consider yourselves lucky.

It seems that we got short changed at Mansfield. I heard that Don did IWNGQ at a few shows but not at Mansfield. That is my favorite song, too. I wish that Stevie would have joined him on that one. It would have rocked!

*gasp* I Will Not Go Quietly!!!??!?! Oh my God I would've died, LOL...then again, just seeing The Genie nearly made me have a heart attack. I adore that song.... And I cried on Last Worthless Evening. LOL! My favorite Don song, being sung by 2 of my favorite people in the world...yah, is it any wonder I had to see another show? He definitely didn't do that at Holmdel... He played a couple random solo gigs up here last fall, I wish I'd known at the time.

Ten shows. Ten thousand miles. My favorite song in the setlist. Hugs, kisses, and handshakes. Heaven.

Yeah, I heard that he did IWNGQ at Mohegan. Not with Stevie of course. Now that would have been the ultimate!

Patti Smith also famously covered it on her 1979 album Wave.

No, he didn't.

It was hilarious how Don forgot most of the words to SYWBaRRS and when he said "whoops" to Stevie she sort of patted his arm and said, "that's okay." They were very cute together.

I listened to that song in the car today for the first time in ages and forgot how much I like it.
Hopefully this performance gets circulated.

My mom still talks about her now and again (my mom went to high school with her). Apparently she was crazier than a ****house rat back then I can imagine what it sounds like.

Oh yeah! Gotta give them props for that unexpected closer. Pretty edgy and risky for them, huh? So glad they didn't close with the expected "Songbird."
I'm so tired of people who expect to hear certain songs and then bitch when they aren't performed (I only bitch when they play essentially the same set...for decades!).

If you truly enjoy the band...you'll enjoy whatever they play...even if you don't know the songs. I went o a concert this weekend. Didn't know anything about the band so I didn't know any of their songs. I still enjoyed the show! I took it for what it was...not what I wanted it to be. I didn't leave bitching that they didn't play "Rhiannon."

It's been in her set in all of her shows that I've seen. I love her version of it.

I missed that part. I was getting escorted out by security at that point.

Was Sunset Grill done? I thought yes, but then I thought it was me thinking of listening to Actual Miles in the car.

Im only referring to Mansfield, I know that if the show goes over 1100m they (the artists) get fined. When they did L & L they were already at 11:00pm. lets be greatful we got that! lol... I know tho when you are expecting something an d you dont get it, thats disappointing. have they been doing that song since? We did have that woman opener Julie ray , i think was her name but she didnt come out until 7:45pm. Had she started at 7:30 there would of been plenty of time. I know that at 7:30 there wasnt many ppl in the audience yet. ppl waiting for stevie came in later, ppl who didnt hear don on yet, new they had time still to buy a drink or go to the bathroom. I know stevie does usually end her shows with a mello song, maybe thats her way of relaxing into the end of a show........ b ut if you could pick a rocker song, to end a show , what song would i t be>? sorry if someone has all ready brought that question up, im gonna think about which song i would like myself..... lol....
