Thumbs up My Mansfield review

All I can say is that Ms Nicks was absolutely top-drawer last night. She was the most energized I've seen her, even during the SYW tour, and you could tell she was having a blast! Her Rhiannon was the best I've seen her do recently (she really punched the air when she sang, W-e-e-l-l-l. I don't think you do!!) and EoS absolutely blew the roof off the place! I was with a new convert to Stevie, and two others who had never seen her before and they were all awestruck. And the difference between her and DH was huge. He made no acknowledgment of her other than in passing, while she stopped at the end of every one of his duets with her, stood aside, said, Mr. Don Henly, and let the crowd applaud him. What a class act she is! I liked his music and he gave a great performance but I have to say that he struck me as even more of a jerk personally than I thought.

What I loved was that when she came out to start her set, the first thing she did was give a HUGE wave to the crowd. it's obvious that she loves her fans as much as we do her.

One question for anyone who was there last night (I'm not sure she did this at other shows): What was she singing at the end of EoS?? It sounded like a completely new verse? Whatever it was, she sure as heck rocked!!!!

One downer for the night: We had four real first-class jerks sitting behind us who decided to take BatB as their opportunity to discuss who was going to go out and get tickets for another concert, how many they needed, etc. they were clearly half in the bag, and were loud and rude. and at one point, one of the guys said over and over, OK, let's just fast-forward through this. they all thought that was pretty funny, and as much as i was looking forward to seeing her perform this, it was really ruined for us. Some people are just complete clods....

All in all, it was a wonderful night, and if her actions tell us anything, I think she's going to be rocking with us for a l-o-n-g while

Glad you had fun despite the idiots behind you.

Did the line at the end of Edge sound something like "Sometimes deep in the middle of the night, I still think about you."?

Yeah, there were some crazy people there last night. I really hate that! The guy next to me fell asleep during BaTB and then woke up making odd noises.

Yeah, the end of Edge of Seventeen was new to me. Can't wait to hear the boot.

I'm looking forward to the boot as well. You could be right, Paula. all I know is it went on and on, and for me not to know the lyrics, well, that was a strange feeling!

Default New end of Edge

Okay, what I heard, I think, at the end of Edge was, "I know what it sounds like, it sounds like youuuuuuuuuuu. Instead of, "I know what it sounds like when doves cry." I know she said "It sounds like youuu." with the you really drawn out.
