Vanessa Opening for Stevie

Saw on stevie-nicks.info that Vanessa Carlton will be the opening act at the GOLD DUST TOUR shows...I think thats very cool...I figured this has been posted already, but didnt see it anywhere

Sounds cool as long as it doesn't shorten Stevie's set! I am not familiar with Vanessa, does she have any popular songs or is she a more obscure artist?

She's lame. She's not obscure. She's a mainstream "I really wanna be Tori Amos" girl.

I like some of her songs..she's def. pretty popular tho

Her biggest hit was "A thousand Miles" , which was like a #1 hit in 2002.

Never won a Grammy, although shes been nominated a couple of time, shes won some American Music Awards though.

You also may have heard her duet with the Counting Crows on the Joni Mitchell cover 'Big Yellow Taxi' which was a big hit.

She had a semi hit last year, saw the vid a few times on MTV and VH1 with "White Houses", I think thats the one Lindsey played acoustic guitar on also.

I wouldnt say shes a Tori wanna be, just cuz she plays piano. She's definetely way more pop than Tori

I like White Houses...but other then that I haven't really heard much of her other stuff...

She plays piano well I can tell ya that much

I'm kinda excited because I always wondered what it was like to see her live

Though I don't know much about it, I was really impressed with the playing on her debut album. The song "Wanted" soounds really hard to me. She seems to be pretty good with the songwriting, too. The only thing is that her voice is just not there.

And from what I've seen, she doesn't sing too well live, so for that reason, it's unfortunate that she's opening for Stevie.

I don't know but i'm going to flip out if at the Universal show, she does White Houses and Lindsey comes out playing guitar. I'll kick myself for not being there

Ever since i've heard Vanessa would be opening, i've been freaking out. I really like her (not her voice as much as her playing) and would love to see her with Stevie. Should Lindsey come out? :dies:
