Me, too. I love every song on that first album, it's so utterly fabulous. I'm actually listening to Attack of the Giant Ants from it right now.

Stevie wasn't the star of Fleetwood Mac until the Dance... if she were in 1980, then why on Earth did she get so few songs per FM album and decide to bust out into a solo career in 1981??

Well she did get three on the White Album, four on Rumours, six on Tusk and was busy touring and recording from the time she joined Fleetwood Mac. She simply didn't have any time for it before that. In fact, if I remember correctly weren't some of the Bella Donna sessions recorded during breaks in the Tusk tour?
Remember, Dreams was the only #1 single FM ever had.

I don't think anyone was "the star" of Fleetwood Mac, I think Fleetwood Mac and the chemistry between its members was the star. Stevie wasn't, Chris wasn't, Lindsey wasn't, etc. It was all of them combined, in my opinion.

I just think the public viewed her differently than that. But it's fine. IMO, IMO, etc.

She was absolutely the star of the shows during "The Dance" tour in '97.. it was almost embarrassing how the fans reacted to Stevie's songs vs. Christine's and Lindsey's... but in 1980, it was still a tight unit between the three of them.. i think once lindsey left in '87, Stevie became "the star"...

Don't you think they reacted that way because left over from what she had always been to the band? I don't think that adoration of her just suddenly cropped up during the dance...

None of them would want to admit it but she always got the most attention after say, her first six months in FM.
I think maybe Mick alluded to it a bit in his book.
Actually, I felt the opposite at The Dance. Everyone was glad to see all five of them up there but I will concede that Silver Springs is the crowning moment.

it didn't.. it started around '87 when Lindsey left... and let's not forget that "Silver Springs" and "Landslide' were making the rounds on the radio stations which further pushed Stevie as "the star" in 1997... those two songs enabled FM to attract a whole new generation of fans, namely because of Stevie's two "new" hit songs for the band... i don't remember "Temporary One" or "Bleed To Love Her" ever being played anywhere...

Oh, man, I totally disagree it started around '87. I think it started around "Rhiannon".
