Angry My Red Suede Couch Fiasco

As some of you know, my couch and chaise were suppose to come in today. Well, it did...somewhat.

I went out to greet the movers and told them to keep both items in the plastic because of the new dye of the couch and the white walls throughout the complex. Did they listen? No.

While moving it through my door, I noticed a HUGE white line across the top of the couch. It was paint. The mover said he must have touched wet paint. Nothing has been painted in the complex. I tried to wipe it off to no avail. I told them to take it back.

THEN I noticed the whole trim around my door was dented and all the paint was chipped off. Grrr......Now I have no couch (just a chaise that I made sure stayed in the plastic) and a doorway that I have to call about on Monday to be fixed. To top it off, the next couch won't be here until next Saturday.

I'm not a happy camper.

I'm sorry, Curt. That blows. I have never had a good experience with movers.

That sucks, Curtis. I'm sorry that happend to you.

When I was moving in about a month ago, the movers were terrible. They totally chipped the paint off the walls while carrying things upstairs, broke glass items, and left freakin' black footprints on the carpet.

Movers ARE horrid....when my sister and her husband moved the genius movers swore they'd cover the mattress w/ plastic - well the didn't then these bright guys decided to put their outdoor grill right up against the mattress...long story short - weird things leaked out all over their not covered mattress...it was so sad and it was relatively new mattress.

The moving co. refused to spring for a new mattress and instead just kept sending over "professional mattress cleaners"

Anyway - good luck with the next couch Curtis

Make sure they pay for the damage to your doorway.

That totally sucks, Curtis. Sorry to hear. I think you should do something to make yourself feel better. Say, like, coming to Detroit on June 18th.

Grin.

(I am seriously sorry about the delivery from hell. Finding good movers is like finding gold. Hope you get your new and perfect couch soon).
