Just because somebody has several years of music business experience doesn't make them the be-all and end-all of an artist's success. I can name many talented people with awesome albums that will never see the light of day.

And yes, thank you, I do have balls. I have the balls to say what I believe.

I believe that Stevie is one of the greatest singer/songwriters that ever lived. BUT, she could be even bigger with the right backing. I know someone that used to work for her and really cared. He left because he said her people were "F'd" up.

And yes, Stevie herself could make some wiser decisions - you brought up the reboks. She could have comfortable custom soft boots made in a million colors that work with her dress. Why not? And yes, she could pay more attention to the merchandise. The back of the Vegas shirts looked like her tombstone. Come on!

It doesn't mean I don't love her. Everybody in my life knows she's extremely important to me. I have never said anything negative about her on this forum. People always get slammed for doing so. But I am a realist. I have been to over 70 Stevie/ Fmac shows and will continue to go, because she inspires me with her words. I got to personally thank her for that several times.

Thanks to those who understood my post. I still believe in what I said and I would be happy to partake in any forum at any time, with any group (are you listening Reprise?) to discuss what I believe would help Stevie and stop the slamming from the press, public and people alike on these very boards!

From one Bob to another....Amen!

The fact that she wears platform reeboks with expensive silk chiffon skirts, should be testament enough to show she doesn't care how things look.

Puh? lease! I'm sorry, but those two things do not logically lead to one another.

Bob, dude.

I take no offense to anything you said and fully understand the concept of focus groups. I'm a graphic designer and totally agree with you on every point about Stevie needing better management, representation, and marketing. My point is that as a fan, you and I have NO influence on Stevie's decision-making concerning her career. As far as Stevie's "F'd up people" are concerned, I seriously doubt they choose set lists, design stage shows or do any of the marketing. They're probably a bunch of yes-men draining her for every buck they can get. Her brother included. That's my guess.

If you think Stevie would ever consider sitting down in front of a focus group of fans who want to pick her songs, choose her outfits and show her how to shake it, you'd probably hurt her feelings less if you told her she was fat and needed a face-lift.

Thanks for agreeing, chiffon skirts and reboks logically don't go toghether.

I thought that the remix was simply a sped up version of the original vocal - chipmunked within an inch of its life - with a generic gay dance backing track layered under it. But, I couldn't hear it very clearly in that place. Frankly, the sound left a little to be desired. That surprised me, considering that they spent a fortune building that place for Screechine.

I thought it was just sped up, too, but I still think it sounded pretty good. The backing was a few steps above generic gay dance backing, IMO. Anyway, I liked it fairly well, and just gave you fifty points for "Screechine".

Nah..It sounded like a new vocal. She did not sound like a chipmunk! Definately a new vocal.

It was amusing because it was a little unexpected. As far as the backing goes, I find it tough to differentiate between all those gay dance tracks. It's basically all the same program with 8 variations....hardly changed since Casio keyboards. Perhaps I am biased. I find dance music only slightly less annoying than rap.
And rap music makes ME want to shoot cops and treat women badly (even if the lyrics are miraculously NOT about those subjects), just because it is so annoying.
At least dance music has a melody and someone usually is actually singing.

Thanks for the points, Homegirl. What's my total now ?

Screechine Screechon, Baby.

I have heard enough dance music to recognize the programming, and to also recognize the almost instant headache creeping into my suffering gourd. But, I hardly hear it for more than a few minutes, up close anyway. I flee to the nearest smoking patio. Thank GOD I found a gay bar that plays rock and roll in Los Angeles. I can go out again !

I do like some of the dance stuff...some. Mostly the old stuff. The songs were written on real live instruments, then translated to technology. So there is actually a song structure and some movement in the composition. Yeah, I'm a music snob.

Did I lose points ?
