Heart TISL HAEWAFY Inspired Hat Wins Contest

heehee... I'm obsessed.

We had a motivational potluck and "hat contest" at work today. Like lots of Stevie fans, I totally fell in love with the HAEWAFY top hat with ostrich feathers on the TISL tour. So I used it as inspiration. I sacraficed a brown felt hat that I never wear. Michael's had some ostrich feathers, so I bought a hot glue gun, a sprig of magnolia flowers and some satin ribbon, then raided my odds and ends box. (see pictures attached.) At the potluck, everyone with a hat had to stand in front of the group while the MC held a hand over each person's head so the audience could clap and show their appreciation. YUCK!! So, my Stevie inspired hat won first place for "Hat With the Most Personality." Isn't that fitting of a Stevie inspired item? hehe

One lady wanted me to GIVE her the hat (HA!) because she loved it so much and a couple of people thought that I had bought it somehow and that it used to belong to Stevie. Heck, I didn't know I was being that obvious with my adoration at work.

Wow! You did a really great job on that. Have you ever considered a second career as hat designer to the stars?

Awww shucks, ya'll.... I didn't think it was that great, but THANK YOU! It wasn't all that hard to throw together I was a little disappointed at the lack of "hat materials" in the local craft stores, but OH WELL. I really enjoy being able to pay little homages to Stevie here and there in life.

About that second career... hmmm.... I've been thinking of getting a 2nd job. Maybe I'll pop that puppy up on Ebay and see how she does.

Thanks again... ya'll are sooo sweet!!

I just sent you a PM.

Holy heck... people at work are still talking about the hat today. I am stunned. When I get time, I'm gonna shop around for old hats and things to see if it would be possible to make a few more, not the same design tho, something diff. That's the coolest thing to create something people like and want. It's a first for me... wow!
