Aimee Mann's "The Forgotten Arm"

Has anyone gotten this yet? I know there are a few Aimee fans here and was curious about your thoughts on it.

I think it's her best album by far and a killer concept album. Not a bad track on it and it's rather heartbreaking to listen to, especially upon first listen when I listened to it all the way through. My favorites are Little Bombs and I Was Thinking I Could Clean Up For Christmas. King of the Jailhouse is fab, but it's even better live.

DO it! Steal it!!! breaking the law, breaking the law.

I like it... a LOT. My favorites are Dear John and Goodbye Caroline so far. Something about the band on the record is irking me... but I already like this one better than Lost in Space.

Yes, that's her. She's released quite a few solo albums- I'm With Stupid, Whatever, Bachelor No. 2, Lost in Space, and her new one, The Forgotten Arm. She also did the soundtrack for the movie Magnolia. I would recommend Bachelor No. 2 as a good starting off point, although they are ALL good.

I like Aimee, though I have been outta touch with her music a bit. This album title brings on a suspect visual. When I first moved to LA, someone found a severed arm in the ocean in Santa Monica, and this made me remember that incident

I just got it Saturday. I LOVE IT!! I listened to it two times back to back yesterday. I can't wait for more listens. The first track...can't remember the name, sorry...is amazing. It's my favorite so far. She played a few of these new songs when I saw her during SXSW. Her voice was absolutely pristene live, I was quite impressed.

I lost my copy on vacation. It has devastated me. I also lost my Franz Ferdinand, the new Garbage album, and two of my Blondie CDs. Life is painful. I'm hauling ass to the store at the ass crack of dawn.

I dug Video, Christmas, and Caroline, though.

What about King of the Jailhouse? That's Aimee at her very best. The version on her live DVD is ****ing amazing, too.

I've been listening to I'm With Stupid a lot lately and that is a perfect album, Frankenstein in particular. Do you have it?
