It is a shame, but I don't think all the material is much better. I think some is better, some is equal, some is worse. etc. except that most of mirage is worse....

oh, and the before - i'm sure you're right, but i don't care about BSAL. Sounds fine and good to me (the one album I have) but without Stevie, i'm just not going to listen much. I know you like a lot of the previous work, though.

I have, a bit. The whole reason i like Mac is because of Stevie's voice. I am addicted to it. Also, I don't like blues that much. Thanks for the advice - I have one pre LAS album - like i said, it's ok, pretty good, but not my taste. I'm glad you like it, though. Now leave me alone!!!!

So, for the folks who go to multiple Mac shows, what's the appeal? What keeps you coming back?

I went to two shows on the SYW tour. There were a few reasons: they were within driving distance (one was a stretch, but doable,) one show was an outdoor venue, I had 3rd row seats for both but one of them I was able to go to the stage for the entire show and play guitar on Go Your Own Way. That made it very worth it.

I went to two TISL shows; one was within driving distance, the other I took a 3 hour flight. Someone scored a front row ticket for me, so I pretty much knew I would get to shake Stevie's hand. That made it very worth it.

Scoring seats in the first few rows is not easy, it takes extra planning, extra energy and in some cases extra money beyond the ticket cost. I probably would not do it again. I had my 15 minutes of front row fame. Lately I've been opting for "nosebleed" seats, mostly in venues where I know there's not a bad seat in the house. No camping in line, no sweating bullets at the last minute, no paying extra money to join clubs and no flood of disappointment afterwards if you don't get the brass ring. It's a lot cheaper and the music sounds just as good, if not better.

Overall, I think I'm pretty much done with multiple shows on the same tour. It IS a lot of money and while the band members are expanding their IRA accounts, mine is not. After shaking STevie's hand and playing Lindsey's guitar, I feel there is not much left after that... unless STevie started throwing pieces of her wardrobe into the audience.

PS: Even if they started mixing up the set lists, I'm not sure it would be enough for me to go to mulitple shows. With airfare and hotel, it becomes cost prohibitive for me being 12 years from retirement. As long as there are tapers, I would probably opt for buying an audience shot DVD of whatever shows I wanted.

Fleetwood Mac stopped being a blues band in 1970. I'm curious as to which album you have. I know many fans of the "Rumours" band also have taken a great liking to "Bare Trees" (which has been described as the white Fleetwood Mac album's twin) and "Mystery To Me." I'd also recommend "Then Play On" (which really inspired Lindsey) and "Kiln House." Personally, I say it's all good.

Somebody mentioned seeing a good movie multiple times. At least for me, unless it's a truly amazing film, I don't feel like spending ten bucks a pop to see it multiple times in the theater in the span of a few weeks. I'd rather wait a few months and buy the DVD; pay twice the cost of a movie ticket and get to watch it as many times as I want.

And I think I view concerts in the same way. Even if a Fleetwood Mac show only cost $20, I don't know that I'd go to multiple shows on a single tour. I don't want to pay the same price to see the same thing again.

Then again, I'd rather go see dozens of other artists who aren't necessarily on the radio and who play fresh and exciting shows, than see Stevie sing Dreams for the trillionth time.

And there's the beauty of living in a free country. No one's forcing you to.

Ahhh, good, I was wondering how long it would take before the good ol' "Get over it" showed up. Always a fitting comment on a discussion board. I think it's my second favorite, actually, losing out only to, "No one's forcing you," which has a truly amazing ability to sneak its way into a discussion in which no one has evened hinted at the idea of being coerced into doing something.

I'll assume that irony's not your strong suit and remind you that no one's forcing you to read this thread, either.

Actually, my comment had nothing to do with reading the thread. Read it, don't read it. I could care less. I was referring to your admonitions of spending so much to see the same show over and over. I said, no one's forcing you to.

And I'm not surprised you've come to expect the "good ol' 'get over it'." Not surprised at all.
