Because it's atrocious? I like watching it every now and then to see Melanie Griffith's boobs get bigger then smaller then bigger then smaller over the course of the movie. Did no one tell that girl that you don't get implants while you're in the middle of shooting a movie? I don't care for it because it just didn't translate well to the screen with the likes of Tom Hanks and Bruce Willis. And DePalma gutted the novel of the real satire in favor of dumbed-down humor. Nowhere near as bad as it's made out to be, though, and I do love the scene where Hanks and Griffith run the kid over.

I like it, too. It's one of those feel good movies that isn't fake and sappy to the Nth degree.

All great. I couldn't agree more about Where the Money Is. Slight, but very fun.

I'd also like to add Noises Off. The funniest movie ever made.

The DVD set is awesome, I just grabbed it off my shelf just now. On the first disc is the director's cut (it's extended by about half an hour), and on the second disc is the theatrical cut, plus lots of extras like deleted scenes. The second disc also has the isolated Tangerine Dream score, so you can pop it into your DVD player and just listen to it. And it's in this neat plastic see-through case that folds out and comes with a gorgeous little booklet.
No way! That sounds like a great package. Man, it's been so long since I saw that movie. I am jealous which I think you already know.

I also want to get Stand by Me which I almost bought at Borders the other day. I read the novella "The Body" by Stephen King and that story was riveting (not quite a strong enough word, I was really affected by this story). The movie wasn't quite as good but it was a really good film.

Is The Big Lebowski underrated? It's such a cult hit now. I love it. The Dude abides, man. A couple of friends and I are planning on hitting Lebowski Fest in Kentucky this year. Ohhh. Can't wait. I thought I'd go as the rug. We'll see.

I wasn't a fan of White Oleander, except for my crush on Patrick Fugit. I think I just love the book too much.

I've got to get this film, I nearly forgot about it, but when the name "Sloan" came up it came to me.
How could you forget Legend? You must watch it again, immediately.

Well, I can't help it. They say your memory starts to go in your 30s and its totally true. I would never completely forget it I just haven't thought about it for a long time. Thanks for bringing it to the top of my pile of memories!

I know it's excessive, like most De Palma. I like it because it's shot angrily and with some scenes of great cinema, like the one where Bruce Willis is surrounded by his entourage.

I love Noises Off, it's one of the movies that makes me laugh more, together with the Maggie Smith/Michael Caine episode in California Suite.

Lebowski Fest? Damn that sounds fun. Too bad I'm in Cali and am making sh*t wages and can't afford to travel.

Jeez I love that movie!

I loved that one, too.

Also, Howard the Duck!

(I'm SO kidding!)

Anyway, it's been awhile since I've seen them, but I remember thinking that Creator and Plenty were underrated. And, of course, UHF.

I thought Ed Harris was the best thing about that movie. Nicole was good don't get me wrong, I just think she was wrong for the role. Good effort on her part though. I think she's a great actress

Of course you did, Parker Posey is in it!

I liked it, but Henry started to get on my nerves by the film's end. It's definitely one of Hal Hartley's best though.

Did you ever see No Such Thing with Sarah Polley and Julie Christie? That's my favorite Hartley movie.

Just watched "Napoleon Dynamite" (it's my 15 year old son's movie, he said it was hilarious, it was ok. Did anyone else see it? Can't decide if I liked it or not, kind of stupid, but kinda funny.

I? Loved that movie. And have watched it more times than I can count. I <3 Napoleon and Pedro. My Mom and I are obsessed with that movie.
