His best movies as a director, IMO, were Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore and After Hours. It may sound blasphemous, but I'm sticking to it.

I do love Scorsese's movies- I totally dug The Aviator, and I actually LOVED LOVED LOVED Gangs of New York for some godforsaken reason, but. Clint deserved that award.

I still think he should win every award in the world for A Perfect World, from like ten years ago.

I thought Gangs of NY was brilliant and DDL was robbed. Socrcese takes the most visceral and ugly or the most ethereal and beautiful and makes it blatant. I think he is brilliant. But, other than Taxi Driver, which I recognize as brilliant even though it is not one of my fav.'s, Age of Innocence should have gotten him the Oscar. That movie was so beilliantsly told.
