Interesting...
Stevie said she liked Jimmy's "Because the Night" huge type of production and that that was the sound she wanted to go for. So, I think both are applicable.

Before I knew that this song was written in '79 I would have agreed with you. But then again, I don't know, maybe she revised it before she released it.
She often does add/change lyrics. Point in case, Think About It- "Oh love it, he says to love it..."

I think we can rule out Mick since nobody knew about their relationship and she wrote:"They say you're not the man for me". How can they say that if nobody knew.....

Here is my take on that part, if it were about Mick. I was thinking that her best friends probably knew about the affair (even if no one else did), and they, as best friends do, would be giving her advice about this affair, and they were probably saying that he wasn't the man for her. Just a thought.

Their friends and families had probably witnessed so many arguments between Stevie and Lindsey at this point. Why wouldn't it make sense a lot of people thought they were wrong for each other? Just a thought.

I, too, havbe thought this. But, I think they may all have just resigned themselves to think those two are just meant for each other no matter that they often cannot stand each other a la Taylor and Burton

I agree with you, but we know how that one turned out, with him in an early grave.

I'd say both couples were poison to each other, yet, deserved each other, nonetheless.

Just a thought. Wasn't Stevie seeing Hernan Rojas the sound engineer around 1979? Maybe it was about him.

Oh I'm sure they knew, especially Robin, maybe she's the one who said that he wasn't the man for her.

I'm surprised she can keep anyone straight! She's gonna have quite a time writing her autobiography!

Right. I don't think all these songs are abouth Linds...It's a nice thought I know that she's always writing about him - but really I'm sure there are more random guys and guys we fans don't even know about that she's written and writes about
