Ive said I realize we are just going to have to agree to disagree, and I see you've said that too. I am not trying to resurrect the argument again but I want to point out that the fundamental flaw with your position from where I stand is that you and others like you subordinate the rights of the mother to the rights of the baby. Dont you see? little by little the MOTHER (WOMAN) is losing her voice and I OBJECT MOST VOCIFEROUSLY to that happening. I value the lives of children, I am a child advocate. But I am first and foremost a WOMAN, and I will NOT stand Idly by while MEN systematically chip away at WOMEN'S RIGHTS. I WILL NOT. And to place one value system above all others or to force a nation to adhere to it is contrary to what this Nation stands for. Your megalomania must STOP. You have the right to live YOUR LIFE how you see fit, not tell others how they should live. You have the right to BELIEVE what you want, not tell others how to believe. You will not change my mind, I will not change yours. but, I guarantee you, you will sow the wind and reap the whirlwind if you persist in this folly. Word.

I don't know--many of us believe that one is born gay and I've never heard anyone say that one is born Christian, or any other religion, for that matter. I've known many who have changed their religions, so I don't see the relation, except for the fact that both religion and sexual orientation are important to people. But, of course I agree with you on the last part.

You didn't answer my question. What kind of point were you trying to make by pointing out that the adopting parents were Christians?

Whether the children bring up the topic or not, we will teach them about many different religions equally -- not putting one above the other, so they'll know that there are a myriad of beliefs all over the world. And if, when they're older, they decide they'd like to know more about one or all of them, we will oblige them. It's their choice.

I think that's a good idea.

That made me let out one helluva gutbuster, Deanna.

I simply can't imagine a kid reading Dianetics and asking for an E-Machine reading.

I’m a believer and thought I’d add it. You’re the one making a big deal out of it.

You specifically brought it up, so I thought I'd ask. No big deal.

alright, I'll qualify that to "primarily" MEN. The majority of our elected officials/policy makers are MEN.

I’ve got a question. If a person finds their love for an animal has a deeper meaning in their life, and they choose to have an intimate relationship with say “a camel” what would you all think of that?

How about if they we’re kicked out of their country and the US said “Sure come to America and bring your camel too”.

It’s a far out question but anything’s possible these days.
