Topic: Are homosexuals born that way? A post by a homosexual from a different message board.
I don’t know about being genetic, I think it is a combination of factors (genetic, hormonal, environmental etc). I am gay, and remember being that way a long time ago when I was really young (maybe 5-7). I told my family I was gay at 16 and it hurt my dad but he loves me. I could tell he judged me by the way he sees a lot of other gays acting out their homosexuality. They flit around making sure everyone else knows their gay. They dress the part and it’s annoying to me. I, too, do not understand why gays act so weird and feminine, as I have never had any inclination towards that behavior. The gay community I live in frowns upon the flamboyant loudmouth gays we refer to as fags. We see them as a danger to the gay community. I act like a normal dude and no one bothers me. I don’t feel I have to run around telling everyone I’m gay and I certainly don’t act like a queer or fag. Just like a heterosexual doesn’t run around making it known their straight. I’m like any guy in every aspect except that I prefer men. On the other hand, I think because I am gay I have more of a feminine mind-set (compassionate, non-ego central etc) and I am appreciative of this. Overall, it really is a pain in the ass. The prospect of spending my life rejected by most of the world is crushing, yet the social repercussions of coming out to everyone I meet telling them I’m gay or acting gay even on this message board is something I don’t feel I need to do on a daily basis. Its no wonder straight people frown on us and don’t want us around children. If you going to act like a fag in front of everyone you deserve the punishment you attract. TJ |

Geez. How awful and hateful. That's like saying a woman who dresses like a skanky whore deserves to be raped. That's just absurd and disgusting, IMO. Some people's personalities are just more flamboyant than others. This doesn't mean they are "asking for" anything.

I admit I sometimes cringe when I see the more flamboyant of us, because, yes, I admit that I think it can hurt the progress we're trying to make across America (not just on the more liberal coasts). It frustrates me when I see all homosexuals being lumped into some stereotype, and it frustrates me even more when I see guys who purposely seem to play up that stereotype. (I'm talking about when gay men do something completely for the shock-value, rather than because they genuinely act or feel that way.)
But shouldn't a person be allowed to be themselves? We're always trying to categorize people, and fit them into our nice, neat little boxes. Some gay men are flamboyant, but certainly not all of us. Some straight men are sexist neanderthals, but certainly not all of them. We should be proud of who WE are, and worry about the kind of person WE are... not worried about the kind of person the guy up the street is, or how his behaviour might make us look.

I had a French music trader once asked would it be a problem for me as an American to be trading music with a Frenchman since our country 'supposedly' hates the French...
No, was my answer...The US government doesnt NOT represent me, And I see no problem trading with any resident of France. I did feel embarrassed as American that day ![]()

I can't dismiss the bible out of hand, because I think a lot of good advice (in the form of parables) can be found in its pages.
Just as with guns, alcohol, the internet, etc., it's the people who use these things, who have the power to abuse and corrupt them. And the same goes for the bible... it's "just a book," for all intents and purposes. How one uses it is where the problem often arises.

![]() I understand that a lot of people (gay folks, even) have cultural ties to the bible/Christianity, but I honestly don't feel any...so I more or less try to just leave it alone. |

(That's like saying a woman who dresses like a skanky whore deserves to be raped.) I don’t know where you saw something like that said in his opinion. You might have read it wrong? I posted his opinion because I agree with the views he has on the way some gays act. They go overboard with feeling the need to make sure everyone knows they’re gay. I’m certainly aware I’ve flirted on this board and had my straight moments of fun but it got real old after a fricking month of it. Not only was I getting tired of it but I’m sure other viewers were getting tired of it too so I stopped. Then I get PM’s asking if I’ve had a lovers quarrel with this and that member. Damn this place is like a soap opera. The reason I started this thread is because this board does have a pecking order. Look at the hot topic threads here. Click on the post count number to the right. It shows you who posted and how many times. Look at the thread and its content. You’ll see the pecking order. It will also show you a few threads that have been hijacked with useless gay banter that’s useless. That’s what I get tired of seeing. The members jumping around thread after thread talking the gay crap I don’t care to see. JMO Let me have my opinion. |

I saw your post as blaming a gay person for a straight person's mistreatment of them. That was how I interpreted it. I suppose the language I used to describe what I saw may seem extreme.
It is so random not to hear from you for a while on this board and then see a post that you pasted from another board. Did you get the poster's permission to do that? Everyone is well aware of your opinion at this point. What is your problem, are you trying to be at the top of the pecking order? ![]() Quote:
