Whats TIVO?

I have heard a few people mention this, is it some form of recording device, clearly we dont get it in Australia, is it good? What format is it? etc.

I don't have it, but I'd like to! It's digital recording - you have to buy or rent special equipment for it, a box about twice the size of a VCR w/ a huge hard drive - I believe it stores about 80 hours of recording time, without using tapes. You can record several shows at once and program it to remember things for you. Like if you record a new Sat. Nite Live, it will also record Sat. Nite Live reruns on E, or whatever.

Maybe someone who actually has TIVO can tell you about it some more.
