Just have to quickly reply to this, having lived in France for 11 years and seeing that they are a bit anti-American.I think they see them (America) as a threat to the French way of life, ie there was a bit of a French word revival a few years back, where using Americanised words (like "ok") was frowned upon. They do tolerate McDonalds ( they have their own "french" twist to the hamburgers ie using French cheeses ..actually they're delicious) and anyone going to EuroDisney will see it's mostly French (signposts, food etc) with the US razamataz, thats surrounds Disney.Toleration in small doses is the French thing, they're very conservative about their heritage.I was never into FR politics so,I can't comment there.

It doesn't help matters that Tony Blair is so far up his ass that I think the average Brit blames Bush for that too because Blair has spent too much time backing Bush and then defending his own actions than running the UK and looking after Great Britain's interests..
Maybe that's why the friend who's hubby is stationed there has no luck. She's is on an American military base.

I've heard that we are percieved by Brits, and I assume, the rest of the world, as arrogant, cocky, and lazy... And as far as "if it ain't invented in America, it ain't ****", I sure hope you're not talking about our cars! I've never owned anything but an American made car, and they've all been pieces of ****! I'll learn my lesson next time and buy a Honda!

Amber, that is so funny! We were BIG campers in high school(you and your friends....no supervision......booze.......pot.......sex........HEAVEN!!!)
I'll never forget the last time. I was probably 19. Woke up about 11am, in 103 degree heat, with the WORST hangover in drinking history. Absolute HELL. A bullet to the brain would've been a welcome experience.
That was the last camping excursion, period.

I used to enjoy winter, but I'm sick of it anymore(as I sit surrounded by 18"s of snow, and it's 15 degrees outside).
I'm officially a sun worshipper now(say hello to skin cancer).

The thing I love about winter is that it gives me an excuse to listen to the Bare Trees album several times each day.

...K******. Yeah...I'm kind of a freak when it comes to that album and Kiln House in the wintertime. I have seasonal urges for albums, I guess?
