I listened to AM radio all the time as a tyke. I heard "Rhiannon" & "Say You Love Me" but didn't know what they were called & thought nothing about them. My favorite songs were "Come & Get Your Love" by Redbone, "Indian Sunset" by Elton John, "Brother Louie" by Stories & other great pop hits. If I knew the name "Fleetwood Mac," I probably thought it was some sort of country group.

I went to a Fleetwood Mac concert & didn't like it much at all. If I thought beforehand they were country, seeing them onstage made me think they were heavy rockers, drug addicts & hippie killers like Charles Manson's gang.

My memory's a little foggy, but I grew to like them pretty quickly, & my fanaticism -- with all the magazines & chasing them down & buying photos & all that nonsense -- just grew & grew.

They played "Dreams" on the school bus & I hated it, but I loved "Go Your Own Way."

I fremember how I became a fan. It was the summer of 1997 and a station in Toronto called City Tv had a weekly rock video countdown of the 30 biggest albums of the week and The Dance sat at number 7 on the charts (Jewel had the top spot) and the video they played was Silver Springs. I liked the song but for some reason I never bothered to do anything about it. (Research the band and check out their albums). Then a few years later( 2001 I think) My dad got talking about music and before I knew it we were talking about FM. I got the dance used for 10.00 at a second hand store and the rest as we say is history. One thing though that I have found with any person or persons I discover is that usually it takes a while to get the info on the abands albums history /aalbums etc right. For example for the longest time before I had Tango or Mirage I kept thinking that Big Love was on the Mirage album for whatever reason. Now I know of course that it isn't. I think what endears me to this band is that no matter what happens the band manages to carry on and make music that speaks to the heart and soul. Even on the crappiest of albums there is always a gem. I mean can someone honestly say that on any Fm or solo venture by any band memeber that there isn't at leat one great song on the album?

I never get tired of telling this story..I heard Sara on my way to work one day and I about drove off the road, the song was so beautiful.

I got to work and asked one of my co-workers who sang Sara and I was told "Fleetwood Mac".

On my dinner break, I went to the closest record store and bought Tusk.

I've been a fan ever since.

I discovered 'Rhiannon" and the rest of the White Album and Rumours later as I worked backward getting the albums.

I remember hearing Rhiannon in 1975 or 76. I was in 5th grade. I really loved that song and I knew that someone named Fleetwood Mac sang it and I thought the name was a guy.
I also liked Say You Love Me from that era and thought that it was odd because neither song sounded like it was sung by a guy.

Fast forward to June 1977 and a song called Dreams was on the radio all the time. It was a bit too slow for me but that voice just did something for me.
I was looking through one of my Mom's magazines at the time and I saw an ad for the Rumours album. Keep in mind that there was no such thing as MTV back then and I did not know about a show called Don Kirshner's Rock Concert at the time. I saw my very first photo of the band called Fleetwood Mac. I still did not know which one he was but I was very intrigued by them. I also found an article in another of Mom's magazines about the band and I really got confused when I saw the name Stevie Nicks.
I found out that this SN person sang Dreams. I also used to see the Rumours album as #1 in the local newspaper. I had to investigate. I went to my local dept store and looked at a copy of Rumours. The woman on the front in black was the most amazing thing that I had ever seen. I turned the cover over and I saw her again and I was in love. Um well not THAT kind of love.
The rest of the band looked really fun, too.
I ended up getting the White Album first because I liked a lot of the songs on it and it came out before Rumours so I guess that I was a bit anal back then.
I went crazy for this album. I loved every song on it. I ended up buying Rumours a month later. I remember that photo collage insert that came in the LP and I was just so intrigued by these people. I just felt a spiritual connection to them. I thought to myself 'Wow, I just bought 2 LPs from a 'real" rock band. No more teeny pop for me."
I ended up finding out that they were coming to Providence a bit too late and I missed them.
I swore to this day that I would never miss them if they were coming to my area again. I really think that that experience was the catalyst from my whole following the band on the SYW tour. The internet is a wonder thing! I wish that it had been around when I was young.
I did get to see them in Providence in 1979. Yes, I am still peeved that they did not come here at all for the SYW tour.

I am sure that I am forgetting a lot of stuff but that is basically it.

Mom had just bought the green album. I'm guessing I was about 11. (late '80's?) I was so embarrassed because she was playing that wreched music in the car when I had a friend with me. Then Sara came on. And I remember later asking who that lady was singing that song. I was in love with that song and voice. Anyhow, fast-forward 5 years. I was 16, and in the car with the same friend, her boyfriend was driving. I was going through his CD case, and there it was... the green album. I asked him to put it in and that was it! I remember when I left from my friends that night, I went straight to my mom's work, hoping to hell she still had that tape in the car. Naturally, she didn't, so I was out to buy it the next day.

My parents had "Rumours" and the "White Album." They played both of them a lot. I remember my Mom would sing along with the album, and I would ask her to play "Rumours" (the album with the ballet dancer on the cover---that is what I called it as a child) . I remember my Mom telling me that they were Fleetwood Mac, and I remember dancing around to "I Don't Want to Know" in my parents' living room. These are some of my favorite childhood memories.

I must've been 8? I remember my mother bought the green Greatest Hits LP. Fell in love with Gypsy. From the first time I heard that album I fell in love with the voice on Sara, Gypsy, Dreams, Rhiannon.. but I didn't really know who they were or who "she" was until much later.

Around the same time (maybe a year later) I also remember becoming aware of Stevie Nicks as a solo artist when Rooms On Fire came out. For a long time I thought of it as the red videoclip because I remembered a lot of red being in it. I only saw it once or twice but I loved that song too.

I'm not sure if I immediately made the connection that it was the same
the same woman on the green album and in the red video.

My earliest Fleetwood Mac memory is of Little Lies, hearing it on the radio, seeing the video...my sister liked them - she's ten years older than I....

So when cd players were just starting to gain momentum - she took a whole paycheck from her job and bought one - along with? Fleetwood Mac's greatest hits lol - so I remember seeing the green cased cd long ago - but being the young child I was - I prefered New Kids on the Block and Debbie Gibson to anything my sister listened to lol...

Well, I just started posting here and I thought I'd jump in on this on. My ealiest FM memories are...
Hearing Little Lies and Everywhere on the radio...over and over. Then when I used to get an allowance, I went to the record store and sard TOSOTM and I had NO idea who Stevie was, but I fell in love with the red dress, so I bought the tape and I loved all the songs. That started my FM obsession.

Not really knowing it, when I was in the car being driven to pre school and then elementary school I was hearing the classics from the White Album and Rumours.

When I knew was in 1982 when my neighbor told me about them and Hold Me was getting major radio play so I went out and got Mirage (awesome cover on that album). Then I saw the Hold Me video and whoa baby~~LB melt me like the sun!!!

When I'd heard that Peter Green had left John Mayall's Bluesbreakers to form his own band...which was to be called "Fleetwood Mac". First "Fleetwood Mac" song I ever heard?

I think my earliest memory of seeing them was me sitting on the floor of the kitchen, looking up at the TV and seeing the Little Lies video. I distinctly remember seeing Chris in her hat at the piano.

Fan-wise, I was watching MTV the day the Dance aired and there was this big wacky thing where there was like a huge party or something and people were dressed as Lindsey with huge fros or something (or I may be making this up, who knows) and I was thinking "Ugh. Hippies."

And then I watch, and it gets to GDW and I lorve it. I go out to the backyard and ask my mom what the Fleetwood Mac song with dragons & women is, and she doesn't know. For my birthday that year, I got the Dance CD and was mad that the song wasn't on it, and later I ordered Rumours from one of those music catalog things and it's there. Yay.

And then I forgot about them for a long time. Then around 2001 I heard Stand Back on the radio and Mom's all, "That's Stevie Nicks!" Around this time, I had been getting back into Rumours and all that, so I was all, "Oh no it's not. It's not witchy!" -_-

So then I download it. Then I download another. And another. Then I go to the NicksFix and find out about Trouble In Shangri-La, which I thought was a videogame or something when I first saw the popup for it. I did some hunting around and foudn out it was Stevie's newest album, etc. And my first Stevie album.
