Shopping's done, thank you very much

Now I just have to wrap all of it...sigh....
I wish all you people who love to wrap lived nearby. I've got plenty for you to wrap--you'd be SO happy! I really don't mind doing it, but there's just SO much. I'd rather be making cookies and fudge!

I wish i lived around, too - it's like the perfect match - I'll wrap, while you make cookies and fudge, which i then eat! voila!

I couldn't bear to reply to this when I had barely anything done, but I did alot of my shopping online today and just have a few gifts left to get So the cards are out, the tree is up, and the presents are bought, maybe I can start to relax just a little bit.

Amber, I'd be happy to bake stuff for you if you'd wrap my gifts! Actually, I like making them look nice and all, but I don't really enjoy the process all that much. But this may be because I LEAVE IT 'TIL THE LAST MINUTE. Not sure though

My new specialty is cakes. What kind of cake do you like?

at the "last minute" part. Congrats on doing your shopping! AND you set the tree up, AND you sent out cards? excellent!! 10 days early!
AND you make cakes? Will you marry me? Um, i like all kinds of cakes. I like homeade ones best, because they have homeade frosting with real cream/butter/whatever, instead of that weird store bought synthetic tasting frosting. I suppose my super favorite is german chocolate cake (I like the coconut frosting). What kind of cakes are your fav. to make?

Well, I'll make any kind, but so far I have made a chocolate fudge from scratch (this frosting is to DIE for, made with butter baby), a carrot cake with yummy cream cheese frosting (again, with buttah), and a yellow cake (from a mix) with that yummy fudge frosting from scratch. You'd never know the yellow cake was a mix unless I told you, very good. The carrot cake was a big hit at Thanksgiving.

I also hate that waxy store frosting. Some are better than others but they're just not right.

German chocolate can be arranged!

I received my order from Dunkin Donuts.Com today in the mail. Yes, I had to order online because most of the stores were either out of the gift cards or the gift checks or did not even get them at all. I only ordered it Monday.

I sent out a few packages today, too.

Just need to get something for my 8 year old cousin and a few gift cards and I am almost done.

LOL, thanks It was so fun to see people's reactions on Thanksgiving, "Did you make this from scratch?", hehe. Especially my Grandmother who really values that sort of thing, got points with Gram!

Nice Pattie. Toys R Us can be fun when you have to get a kid's gift. They have so much though it can be a bit overwhelming! I just haven't had any money since getting screwed by my cell company and then with car issues so I haven't felt like shopping. Bah humbug!

Yeah, that's kind of the best thing about making them. To bring suprise yumminess and good cheer to your friends and loved ones. IMO. "I'd like to bake the world a cake...."

Last year I got him a Hotwheels car and a gift card to KB Toys. He was not too thrilled with the car but loved the gift card. KB is going out of business so I was thinking maybe a Toys R US gift card as long as I can get one at Walgreens and not have to go to that store it's ok.

My cousin (his Mom) said he likes Old Navy so maybe I could get one there but I think the Toys R US card might be a better idea. I don't want to get him clothes either. I hate getting clothes.

Yeah, if he's fussy a gift card might be the way to go. Old Navy is pretty cool too since your buck goes a long way.

I am mostly done. I have a few gift cards to buy, and I want to get my mom a cashmere sweater. Of coarse, I have Sara to buy for, and usually go overboard on. Her big ticket items this year are a Leapster and a Barbie camcorder.... spoiled rotten I tell ya.....

I got the assholes... uh, I mean... kind folks at work done and over with. Everyone got candles, except for the one man I work with, and he brings sausage and crackers to work all the time, so I got him a cutting board and knife so he'll quit tearing the hell out of the paper plates!

And about the lotto tickets, I get them every year from my father in my stocking at my folks house. It's his own little tradition.

WOO HOO! I went to Old Navy yesterday afternoon and I got something really cute. It was one of those fleece pullovers with a hood and it said Old Navy on it with really cool writing and it had flames drawn on the side of the sleeves. It was on sale, too. I also got a throw that was green and red for my Dad.

I got my other cousin (his sister) a gift card to Charotte Russe. I love that store myself. The line to get a gift cert to Providence Place Mall was way too long but there was no line surprisingly in CR. So CR it was.

I got my friend a gift card (yes Jimmy another gift card ) to Filenes so that she can buy her own perfume.

I was going to stop in Yankee Candle to get a few votive stocking stuffers but I was hungry and UNO's prevailed.

Today it's Walgreens for a Toy R Us gift card and Kmart the get one more shirt for Dad and I am 97% done.

Boo hoo for me. Well there is my dad but he's not really a person and I think that's a requirement when taking on the role of recipient.

What a coincidence, i got people clumps of air, too!!! I may spend some of my best buy coupons to get something for my parents, after all, it's not actual money. Also, i will be at their house, and they are getting presents for me, so it seems scroogely not to. Although, I think one of my presents from them is "monAY" as my mom put it earlier this week, so, if someone is giving you money, doesn't it logically follow that they wouldn't want you to spend any of the money you already have on them? Isn't their goal to make your overall pile of money bigger, and if they're your parents, to help bring you from the brink of the wolf's maw, rent wise?
