Issak Gets Into A Holiday Mood

[joe68]

Chris Isaak is tossing his Santa hat into the ring with his first seasonal album, "Chris Isaak Christmas." Due Oct. 12 via Wicked Game Records/Reprise, the crooner's collection features 11 traditional songs and five originals to warm up the winter holidays, including a duet with Stevie Nicks.

Nicks appears on a version of "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," which will likely be promoted to U.S. radio outlets during the upcoming holiday season. Other classics Isaak tackles with his band, the Silvertones, include "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "Blue Christmas" and "Let it Snow."

The original offerings include three cuts reflecting holiday blues: "Washington Square," "Hey Santa!" and "Christmas on TV." Also featured is the spiritual "Brightest Star," as well as "Gotta Be Good."

Along with a host of appearances on talk shows during the season to promote the album, Isaak will star in a one-hour PBS special that will air around Thanksgiving.

A major market U.S. tour is also expected in support of "Chris Isaak Christmas." In the meantime, the artist has a nine-date Australian tour scheduled, kicking off Oct. 7 with the first of two shows in Melbourne.

I am actually really looking forward to this album, not just because Stevie is on it either but because I think it will be a cool album.

I LOVE CI and often listen to "Heart Shaped World" as it is one of my fav.'s ever. So, I am looking forward to this release. Let's hope La Nicks sings it like she means it a la that White House live Silent Night!!!!!!!!!! Let's also hope there is a live televised special

Looks like it might be the lead single. Maybe it will be played unlike SYW and TD. I hope her part is prominent.
