Wink Got Nuts?

What's your favorite nut? (You can't pick anybody here. )

I don't eat nuts too often.
No, I'm not like the nut reciting guy in Best In Show.
I like almonds. Peanuts are okay. (And don't tell me they're not a nut.) Walnuts don't have the best flavor. Macadamia is too fattening to justify the flavor. Cashews are so-so.

And do you prefer crunchy or smooth peanut butter?

I think my favorite would be Spanish peanuts, with the red skins on. Second would be salted peanuts in the shell. There's a store on Walnut St. in Philly called Nuts to You, and every time I walk by it smells SO good. Every once in a while I'll stop and buy a bag of warm peanuts. Next favorite would be cashews.

As for peanut butter, I am a connoisseur! I LOVE peanut butter. I go thru spells where I can't get enough. Right now since I'm on a diet I'll say Skippy Low Fat is my fav. It's actually not bad. Next I'd say is the Peter Pan Honey Roast. Yummy. I can eat it by the spoonful! Part of why I'm on a diet, I guess.

LOL..."I used to be able to name every kind of nut..." --Harlan Pepper (Best in Show) hehe

Anyway, being from one of the world's largest pecan growing regions, I have to say that they're my favorite nut

I also enjoy almonds and peanuts....

I dislike chunky peanut butter...and can only really tolerate one brand of peanut butter - Jif...haha...so I'm not really big on the stuff...but it's gotta be Jif creamy

Darn. I can't pick anyone here?

I'm not a big fan of nuts at all. In fact, if they're in or on something, I usually pick them off. If I have to pick a favorite nut, it would probably be the cashew. As far as PB is concerned, we use Reduced Fat Jif and Simply Jif (it has less sugar...my dad has diabetes).

You remind me of that old Joan Rivers joke. Not to comment on your intelligence...you took the Pepsi Challenge & chose Jif.

I forgot pecans. They're so-so in my book.
When I was little I liked chunky pb & hated the smooth - an exception to my no-lumps-in-food rule.

I just cut Skippy low-fat out of my diet in an effort to get in better shape before the end of summer. It's not that low-fat, BTW, though cardiologist friends have told me that peanuts are good for the heart. What do I care. My heart is tiny. No more pb for me.

May I inquire, just what is it you like about walnuts? I like the texture - you can really bite them - but that's about it.

You just said "you remind..." and "Joan Rivers..." in the same sentence. That was scary.

Are we starved for conversation if we're discussing our favorite kind of NUTS? !

I have a severe obsession with pistachio kernels, and milder obsessions with almonds and cashews.

I don't really eat nuts, but I've been reading that they're really good for you (especially walnuts), so that's about to change.

Walnuts, pecans, and cashews are my favorites. Peanuts have too much salt, and I don't think I've ever eaten macademia nuts.

You should still eat nuts. Maybe not peanut butter, but whole nuts, a small handful a day, or every other, at least. Cut out some other NOT good for you fat. I'm a big fan of nuts, they're very beneficial. I like almonds best, though i eat SF seeds most (cheap) which have vitamin E. Did you know walnuts are the only thing besides fish and flaxseed oil that have Omega 3 fatty acid? Plus, nuts have slower release energy, which helps you feel full and keeps your blood sugar steady. My family has a little problem with Hypoglycemia (sugar makes us tired/irritable, but we crave it) and nuts can always come to the rescue of low blood sugar.

oh, yeah, i forgot how good and addictive pistachios are.
