Thanks a lot! You couldn't label that a spoiler? I'm in the middle of the book right now!

She must, because I was surprised she was nominated for this & not for The Others.

It's not that good IMO. I think I burned out on it when I was little & the kids in my street practiced it to perform (never happened). I was going to sing Beauty School Dropout. Thank goodness there are no bootlegs out there.

I love Grease. It sends a terrible message to kids, though.

I liked this movie & am surprised that so many folks think it sucked.

I thought it was fantastic. Hated the ending, but I loved the movie.

I hear Diane Lane's name often. What might I have seen her in
"Streets of Fire," lip-synching the Marilyn Martin version of "Sorcerer."

"The Outsiders," and more recently, "Unfaithful," in which she earned an Oscar nomination.

Cheesy, I admit, but one of my favorite romantic movie moments is "You had me at hello" from "Jerry Maguire." Not so much the line itself, but that it melted the hearts of the men-bashing women in the room....

"It already came true" and the kiss over the birthday cake in "Sixteen Candles."

I adore "When Harry Met Sally." I like all the snippets of the elderly couples...

Never saw any of those Diane Lane films, and I deytest that version of Sorcerer.
I love WHMS too, and 16 Candles is a classic. (Wait, you mean the scenes of Dong & Marlene weren't the most romantic? )
When I worked at Bloomingdales, I know I waited on the couple from WHMS who talked over one another. (The guy road up the extra floors.) I know they're just actors cast in the roles, but this couple looked & talked EXACTLY like them & kept trying to convince me I was too good to be working in a department store. If it wasn't really the same people, they have doubles.

Are you talking about something like..."Act and look like a bad girl, slut it up, and the bad boy will fall in love with you?" But remember, Johnny T cleaned up and lettered in track for her...he changed into his geeky letterman sweater in the final scene, too.
I, personally, can't get enough of Rizzo - or Stockard Channing in general - I just love her.

Somehow, you gotta see Diane Lane. She's incredibly...something...I actually recommend a movie that came out a couple years ago, Liev Schrieber and Viggo Mortenson are in it with her, anna paquin has a small role...I forgot the name I think moon is in the title...It's some of her best work - she is underused and underestimated, maybe cause she is so pretty, or she kind of has a weird subtle/intense quality...I googled her, the title is "A walk on the moon" but she was osc.nommed for Unfaithful...anywhoo...

Well I've seen Diane Ladd. That's pretty close.
I'll watch for Diane Lane.

so much. If you haven't seen an old movie of hers called "Girl Most Likely To...." It's a black comedy (with Ed Asner!) and is just funny and good, plus, Stockard's the star. She goes from hideously ugly, then pretty after a car accident, then tries to get revenge on all the ***holes who were mean to her before, and ed asner is a detective....it's just weird and funny!

YES!!! I love that movie!! I remember watching it on TV when I was in high school! I'm dying to see it again - wonder if the local cult movie video store has it.
