Lightbulb Woah.

The quartet version of Fleetwood Mac is stronger than any of its recent incarnations.
Some think it, some actually SAY it.

BTW, what exactly is recent? LOL The Dance, or going on back to Time and BTM?

Are they saying the group is better without Christine? I strongly disagree.

NO...cause that incarnation is the same one as the one from the 70's and i'm sure theyd agree that was the strongest. i'm sure they're talking about the lindsey-less carnation (any of them)

I prefer not to compare the current lineup to the Rumours one that included Christine. They're a little different from each other, but each sounds great in its own way. I do miss Christine, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed both the SYW album and the live show despite her absence. I'm glad they decided to leave World Turning and Don't Stop in the set, and I was pleased with Stevie's performance filling in for Christine. I know there have been varying opinions about this, but I thought she did well by Christine's songs, just as Lindsey did well by Peter Green's and Bob Welch's songs back in 1975.

As for post-Rumours lineups, I think the BTM lineup sounded great, both live and on the album. I love Christine's songs on the album in particular, and I thought Burnette and Vito gave the band a different but for the most part equally good sound. I haven't heard the Time lineup, so I can't really comment on it.

Incidentally, the current lineup seems to be the best the band has ever performed with only four members. In the past, all their best albums (IMO) were done as a quintet, from Then Play On (Peter, Jeremy, Danny, Mick and John) to Bare Trees (Danny, Bob Welch, Christine, Mick and John) to Rumours (the BN lineup) and beyond.
