Thumbs down No Extras On the DVDs

I got an email from Lisa at HD Ready today and she said that:

"The bonus material is extra footage which includes:
Dreams
What's The World Coming To
World Turning
And the full version of Second Hand News"

which are cut from the PBS broadcast.

Kinda sucks, eh?

Well, first my show in Pittsburgh gets cancelled.
Then there's no juicy extras on the DVD.

Can we rewind and start this week over?!?

I've learned not to get my hopes up for extras from this band. It is amazing that most other artists can give "something" and this band doesn't seem to care about doing that. I figured when they said there were 3 extra songs they were going to be the ones cut from the broadcast. I guess that is considered an extra in FMLand.

I'm happy that all the PBS viewers won't be subjected to Mick's ridiculously long drum solo...more and more people are commenting at the shows that the solo is going on way too long.

Default No Extras On the DVDs

It's a bad week I know....

But just think about how this last year has been.... In 14 months we've received from Fleetwood Mac - not to mention all this touring... But

CD - Say You Will
2 CDs - Say You Will "Limited Edition"
CD - Fleetwood Mac Remastered
2 CD's - Rumours Remastered w/Bonus disc
2 CD's - Tusk Remastered w/Bonus disc
2 DVD's - Live In Boston - 2.5 hours
1 CD - Live In Boston CD

I think we've had a great year... In terms of releases - this past 14 months is unmatched.

I'm holding judgement on the dvd's until they are in hand.... Maybe there will be some surprises on the discs... ya never know.

Default let's pretend...

that it's 1996. at this point in time, despite rumours, there really is no FM. the "new" version petered out. stevie's last album was a disappointment, no word on christine, and lindsey's solo album is shelved.

we should all feel lucky now, huh?

Perfectly put. Kudos.

I'm glad that we're getting this stuff, but most of the time it just seems like the band just wants to release crap without any effort or consideration for the quality of the product or its consumers. It drives me bonkers. I tell ya, if I was famous and had the opportunity to release a live DVD, I'd use up all the space available...even if that meant reading the phone book for an hour and a half.

And why in the hell is the concert split over two DVDs if there are no extras?! Ugh. Doesn't that bother anyone else? I have Gone With the Wind on DVD and it annoys the hell outta me when I have get up in the middle of the movie and flip it over to the other side.

Yes! I was just thinking about this very thing earlier this morning. I am lucky I got to see them twice last year, and I'm lucky we got all the goodies we did get. But it is disappointing nonetheless. Just hoping Miss Stevie gets well and stays well!

Trying to keep my chin up!

I'm not complaining, I never thought this band would get past the "Time" era

Well I hope there's extras on the Destiny Rules Documentary DVD otherwise I'm going to be pissed that I spent the extra money for it. I could just watch my taped video from VH1. However, I won't be too surprised if there's no extras.

and compared to other artists and bands this band gives very little in the way of extras, even when they're charging you for the extras. I guess it's never the way the fan wants it or is enough to make them happy. Let's hope they're not making the decision about whether to release the Mirage or Tusk DVD based on their genius decision to release the TITN DVD first.

I didn't expect any extras from the concert DVD, but to even sell the documentary on DVD without extras is ridiculous. I of course bought it, but I'm sure I will regret it. I too could just watch my tape from VH1
