How could I forget, "Drowning in the sea of love, where everyone would love to drown?"

that's definitely in the top five.

Here are mine:

"Every night that goes between I feel a little less"

"Step into the velvet of the morning"

"Though deep set and somewhat shadowed"

"Thrown down through the arms of sleep she fell through the ivory morning"

"I was just that old that August dark, dark day"

"In the shadow of the castle walls wherever those walls were"

"Until she herself became the deadliest poison"

"Papa says there are clothes to wash" (alright kidding there)

Yeah, for some reason, I don't count that as the first line, it's more of an intro. But I know technically it is the first line of the song.

No, the intro is that she doesn't wanna be a cleaning lady.

Rock on Gold Dust Woman,Take your silver spoon and dig your grave-wow I just love it...

or

Intense silence as she walked in the room,Her black robes trailing, sister of the moon...

other favorite phrases, not necessarily first lines...

not all the prayers in the world will save us..

poet...priest of nothing...legend

all our sorrows will become our only visions, nothing more

we listen to their voices, ignoring our own voice...

Rhiannon, don't go, you cry but then she's gone, and your life knows no answers..

dreamer, silly dreamer, try hard, you can't leave her...

I could go on and on but I'll stop now

That reminds me, the other day when I was listening to "the cleaning lady version" of Sara with a friend, Stevie said that line, "I wanna be a star, I don't wanna be a cleaning lady," and my friend was like, "what the f*ck is she talking about?" And I had to go into the whole sordid story about B/N, Keith Olsen's house, etc...it made for a very long winded, detailed explanation and by the end of it my friend was totally glazed over---uninterested, and here I am with my, "ya see she was harkening back to those days of struggling during B/N"....yaddah, yaddah, yaddah. Next time I'm not even going to bother!

There just isn't an easy way to sum up her life.

Old...thread...can't...resist....posting...

of course, Intense...silence...etc.

of course, No one looked, i walked by...etc.

Bright light is lying down, earth and the sea, and the sky...they're at rest with the ocean, oo oo oo, and the days go by...

I'll stay with you one more night, I'll bid you no goodbye, not until tomorrows light, then i'll say goodnight. Well i would really rather die, then make you stop...

You're right, the beginning of Kick It isn't bad.

AH HA!! oh, uh, I mean, yeah, it's really good. Everyone forgets about Kick It. It's like the red headed stepchild of Stevie's good songs.

Actually, I think it sounds like a demo. She'd do a better job of it today, not to mention get better production.

Do you always trust your first initial feeling

You think you hear demons, I think you are the demons

To be the last to leave, the last to be gone - Dont ask me why

So long ago, certain place, certain time

He fell for her again, she watched it happen

Crying the morning, trying to be strong

Through deep set and somewhat shadowed. Her life...her mystery

Think that's it heh, I dont feel like going thru ALL her songs right now...

Default favorite lines

"Step in to the velvet of the morning"...

"Rock on GDW, take your silver spoon and dig your grave"...

"No one looked as I walked by, just an invitation would have been just fine"...

"The bright light is lying down"...

"Don't take me to the tower and take my child away"

"You can ride high atop your pony"...

"You could be my Silver Spring, my blue green colors flashing, I would be your only dream, your shining autumn, ocean crashing"....(love this whole song)

Now there you go again, you say, you want your freedom, who am I to keep you down....dowwwnnn"

One of my most favorite Stevie lines is not the opening line but I will list it anyway because it is just so beautiful!

"If you love somebody, save their soul, tie them to your heaven, erase their Hell"... How mind blowing are those words! I luv em.
