Default Bewitched - The Movie

I have to admit I have had reservations about this since I heard Nicole Kidman was lined up for the role of Samantha. As far as I'm concerned Elizabeth Montgomery always will be the witch with the twitch to me. Here is a little snippet from my mag about other people joining the cast

Acting Legends Sir Michael Caine and Shirley macLaine are being lined up to play Nicole Kidman's parents in the big screen version of the TV classic Bewitched. Elf star Will Ferrell will play her long suffering husband Darrin.

Yay.. Shirley MacLaine!

I think it'll be great.

Have you seen the trailer for The Stepford Wives yet? It looks GREAT.

I want to see it. I'm just hoping Bette doesn't overdo it. (I know, you love her.)

I'm not seeing Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell as Samantha and Darrin. Surely there's someone else out there more suited for the roles??

This Brit actress from Eastenders looks a lot like Liz Motgomery IMO.

I guess I can't imagine anyone else playing the role. And I'm not keen on Nicole Kidman either. I'll have to wait and see what think when I see the film. That said I bet Shirley MacLaine will play agreat Endora!

From the clips I saw, it looks like Kidman is the one who overdoes it. And her hair is god-awful in it. Cut above her ears and dyed dark, dark brown. Glenn Close looks like a riot and Bette cracked me up in the clip they showed in the trailer. Any movie that has Bette Midler and Jon Lovitz as a married couple is sure to be entertaining.

I read an article in The Village Voice that talked about a lot of the fights on the set and it ws pretty juicy. I guess the other actors had to do a scene in bathing suits, so Bette said "I'd rather look like a fat cow than these anorexic freakshows!" and a couple of the actresses started crying. And they worked on a scene that took forever to shoot and she yelled at her co-star "What the f*ck are we still doing here?!" and he told her "Collecting paychecks."

YES!!! I am so looking forward to seeing this movie! I don't know how they're going to top the original though, it's gonna be hard.

So I take it Bette Midler is going to play Bobbie and Nicole is going to play Joanna? This oughta be great. Jake, I know what you mean about Bette, but she may pull through on this one, she's always full of surprises.

Isn't this like the third time Nicole Kidman has played a witch?

Yeah, the original is a classic.

However, I think that this time around they're going for the more black comedy aspect. The original had a bit, but the new looks like it's going to be hysterically funny in a disturbing sort of way (like my favorite movie of all time "Heathers"). It'll be fab!

I love Bewitched but I am usually a little unsure about movie remakes. However, I did love The Brady Bunch movie. I thought that was hilarious. Shirley MacLaine sounds like she will be a good Endora.
