I haven't written in so long - probably 6 months or more. I was inspired the other day after listening to Goodbye Baby and wanted to share. Hope you like.

Terminal

The air is sticky
And my breath is hot
He is sick, you know
I tend to glance behind me
There is silence in the darkness
I worry that I did not do enough
The angel next to me is crying and screaming
At the red lights trailing in the distance, they do not slow down, they only fade

There is no calm here
Dramatic and impatient and frightened
Stay inside the circle, he is sleeping, do not wake him

Pictures of me fall into the mud
Squashed beneath leather and disgust
I do not know how to dress myself
I am late
There are no more angels – no one cares about the dying
