I actually did not mind Nixon, esp., his foreign policy. I always wonder if Ticky Dick actually knew the extent of what they were doiong and what was really on those 17 (?) minutes of erased tape. I guess we will never know ![]() |

Nixon and Ford were both fairly moderate. I think Nixon's problem was that he had little confidence in himself. Ford's problem was he was Nixon's VP. In actuality, Ford had a lot of integrity. |

I guess we will never know [QUOTE] Oh, make no mistake, I minded Watergate and the dirty tricks. However, no one loves a peacemonger more than a liberal and Nixon spent a lot of time going around establishing diplomatic relations with other governments, ending the draft and the Viet Nam war. That's a pretty liberal policy for any Republican. He was also a true conservative in the sense that he wanted to give more power back to state and local governments. he was a million times brighter than that tree stump currently occupying the White House. Again, I think he has lots to answer for in this area. I just think labelling him a deserter has no basis in the facts as we know them because the NG certainly prosecuted many deserters. ![]() |
