Question What makes you a fan of Lindsey?

I am in a weird mood. LOL I was just wondering what is it about Lindsey that draws you to him? What are the attributes about him you like/love the most? All us Ledgies have our fave FM member, which is coolness, but I'm just curious as to why we Lindsey fanatics are so er....fanatical about Liddy Buck.

The thing that drew me to him first off, was that voice. Him singing Holiday Road and Dancing Across the USA over the credits to Vacation, I'll never forget that day. The songs just HIT me like a Mack truck. I was going through a rough time in my life and the songs and his voice just drew me in....an escape.

Then, I heard the Dance version of ISA when I bought the video on Ebay, and forget it, I was hooked for a lifetime. Seeing him play the guitar like that...the intensity, darkness and emotion shot right through me. Then, hearing him totally redo Big Love and Go Insane, two songs that I'd fallen in love with at FIRST listen was amazing!!

Listening to clips from his solo albums on the net, I heard so many great snippets of Lindsey and fell in love with the voice, instrumentation...the vibe.

THEN...BAM...I see the cover of those albums...and WOAH MAMA! BONUS!! LOL He's talented AND gorgeous!!

Of course, no matter how much I adore this man for his beautiful blue eyes, youthful appearance, shy attitude and just plain HOTNESS (LOL!!), it's the music that draws me in, the unique sounds to his songs, that voice, the lyrics.

Oh boy, there are so many reasons. But these days I would say the most important factor relates to my own songwriting. When I write with guitar in hand now, or try to put music to the words that usually come first, I really make an effort to match the musical mood to the message in the lyrics. I believe Lindsey is a master at that. And as far as the words, because of my background as a journalist, I tend to be quite literal in my writing. But often (not always) I put my lyrics through the Lindsey filter: Do I have too many words? Does each word pack enough punch? If there is humor and sarcasm, are they well-placed or gratuitous? Am I emphasizing the right syllables in the delivery (One might argue Lindsey often emphasizes the wrong ones, but from a creative standpoint they may be the perfect ones.)

Beyond that, there is the simple pleasure of enjoying the man's work.

I think LB is great because the man can play great guitar in his own style. Also, I love that he can create other artists' work (and there are many) into masterpeices. Finally, he is very, very gracious with fans both on and off of the stage.

Heart

I adore Buckingham's pretty, tenor pipes!!!!!!!!

On the breathy, SAY GOODBYE, {live or on SAY YOU WILL}........BLEED TO LOVE HER ........STEEL YOUR HEART AWAY.........and his romantic sonic paradise, OUT OF THE CRADLE album in it's entirety.

Buckingham has incredible range on I'M SO AFRAID, the sensual BIG LOVE, and the impassioned GO INSANE.....and has power- spunk on SECOND HAND NEWS in concert.

I love all these songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John McVie says Buck doesn't give himself enough credit for his singing.............................

He can sing powerfully on the rockers and soft 'n mellifluously on the ballads, simultaneously playing some intricate guitar riff.
Amazing!

Buckingham is the best guitarist in the business today!!!

Smile Lindsey

Well, I wouldn't call myself a "Lindsey fanatic". Maybe if I had gotten up close enough to him to strum his guitar or have him drip sweat on me (LOL) during this last tour, I might be. But alas, I was in row 16. Anyway, what drew me initially to the Mac was #1, the music & #2 the chemistry between the band members. Lindsey is a great song writer, singer & a great guitarist. I'm really sold on his guitar playing since seeing him on tour. Not that I ever thought b/f that he stunk. No way. No one can play that guitar like he can & with no pick! I have one of his solo CDs, & I love it.

Usually the band member I favor is the one I watch the most on stage, & though I watched Stevie a lot during the concert in Philly, I found myself watching Lindsey the most. He had the most energy, & he was the most memorizing to watch.

he "taught" me how to play the guitar If I hadn't been so impressed by his music, I probably wouldn't have been so fanatical in learning to play that thing. And wouldn't have enjoyed playing it so much!

His guitar work, his songwriting, his production capabilities and most of all his integrity as an artist. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that he's easy on the eyes

Although Id say Stevie is probably the member I give most of my attention to, it was actually GYOW that got me into FM whilst seeing Forrest Gump at the pics! But it wasnt until I saw him in concert and met him that I realised just how goddamn amazing he is! Since Manchester and seeing him kick the **** out of the guitar Iv seen him in a completely different way, also knowing how he can take a song, ANY song and turn it into a masterpiece.

The first FM song I ever heard was GYOW and I loved it! After that I heard Stevie's Rooms on Fire blaring away in the 80's. I became a Stevie fan first I think. Gradually I bought vids and CD's now DVD's and I found an old copy of a FM tour that we had taped off the TV in the 80's, I can't remember the name of this particular tour but the songs on there are fab. Does anyone know what this tour may be if I give them a little insight?

Lindsey says "It's been a while since we've played now and the rumours have it that we are splitting up, but us guys just refuse to go away" then Stevie comes running onstage in a beaded pink/pastel beaded top singing Gypsy. (she looks gorgeous) Anyone shed any light on this?

It's the one where LB is doing a jamming bit with JMcV. LB has his creamy coloured hat on and I think they are playing It's Not That Funny. Lindsey is smoking and his ash is dropping onto JOhn as John jams with him. Mick is playing drums in the background absolutely off his head.. It's so brilliant the whole scene. I was totally mesmerised by Lindsey's playing and personality. I love the relationship/chemistry he has with the band, especially Stevie. The whole love story thing is wonderful between them.

I think he's sexy, gorgeous and I am totally in awe of him. If he wants a blonde keep fit instructor who covers FM stuff then I live in UK and am here waiting for him lol.

LB - COOL SEXY GUY!!!

Arrow Lorraine...

First of all, welcome to the Ledge!

That video you are talking about is the Mirage concert video. It's got THE GREATEST version of The Chain EVER on it, IMO. That whole concert is spectacular and her doing SOTM with the speaking in tongues.....WOAH!

I was a very shy 12 year old who discovered music and amongst it was Fleetwood Mac. I fell in love with Lindsey when I saw the Hold Me video as he was and still is very good to look at .
I think he is an incredible musician and has done some fabulous work on his own material and other artists work as well.
I am still fond of him til this day and I am 32 now. Twenty years of Lindsey and I must say that it wouldn't have been the same without him!
