These lyrics spoke to me today, as Stevie's lyrics always do.
"Well, it's hard to be civil, and it's real hard to be nice"! Please feel free to add your own thoughts and feelings. ![]()

Think of me sweet darlin'
Every time you don't come.

Don't know why I have to work
Don't know why I can't play Turn me off, turn me out But don't turn me away Save me a place I'll come running if you love me today

One of my favorites! I bought a house and moved into it a month ago, and I'll be setting up my little recording studio in the basement, soon. I need to get some carpet to deaden the sound down there, but for now, the acoustics are awesome, and I sit down there and sing Save Me A Place, all the fukcing time. It's my go to song down there.

Quote:
It's such a gem of song. It has the great merit of getting its message across with beautiful efficiency. It's like LB has sat down and provided a measured counter-balance to the jovial bile of NGBA. I've always wondered who the baritone voice is in the backing vocals at about 01:39. It's probably Lindsey singing in a lower register or a bit of studio trickery, but I'm not absolutely sure.

But how many times Must I be the fool Before I can make it Oh make it on home I've got to find a place to sing my words Is there nobody listening to my song? |
