Anyone have the dance rehearsals?

I know they did weird songs

I don't know about weird songs but this interview and rehearsal was published at that time. Doesn't Lindsey look slightly overweight, kind of big-bellied? Or is it the shirt that gives it that look?

That session must have been circa april '97? When I saw them in november (NYC) Lindsey looked thin.

I think there have been various reports over the years of a bunch of different songs attempted, some of which made the tour (Oh Daddy, Second Hand News, Farmers Daughter) but were never on the album or video, and some like Little Lies were reportedly rehearsed but never made the Burbank shows or the tour. I want to say people have claimed Isn’t it Midnight, As Long as You Follow, and Twisted were also rehearsed but honestly I’ve never seen any real evidence. Twisted would have made a ton of sense and I just fail to see them pulling in ALAYF in 1997

He collaborated with Christine in Behind The Mask, and even in Nothing Without You (although I read that he was in the studio by chance and the opportunity arose).

But yes, singing a song live can be a different story; anyway it would have been really nice to see them play ALAYF. But if I have to choose, I would have loved to see them play Isn't It Midnight in 2014.

Rick's guitar on ALAYF is seriously gorgeous. It's one of the few moments of that incarnation's tenure that I look back on with unadulterated fondness.

Beautifully said! It's a song that continues to grow on me. When it was released, I did not appreciate it like I do today.

I think like a lot of people Lindsey's weight shifted while he was in middle age probably while he caught up with a changing metabolism. He was thinner by the end of the tour and then moved into his current condition around the time of SYW and after. I always assumed it was leading a healthier lifestyle after he got married and had kids. I've seen that kind of thing in guys in real life too.

I remember hearing about Isn't it Midnight and Little Lies being rehearsed. I think in the end, we got what was always the most likely -- I'm glad they did Farmer's Daughter -- that was a nice surprise. I would have loved to hear Twisted, though. I guess that will never happen.

Can you imagine getting 4 more songs instead of Stand Back, Go Insane, and Not That Funny. I think Love In Store would of been a better ending than Farmers Daughter.

I love LIS, it's a song I would have loved to have always been on the setlist, but I wouldn't choose it as the ending. Farmer's Daughter was a great surprise, but I'd have liked it before Songbird. Songbird is to me the definitive ending, with Christine saying goodbye to the city. I'm traditional

“Love in Store” would have been sweet in 1997 because the band botched it in 1982. Or I should say Christine botched it with her B3. That song cries out for piano or electric piano, not pedal-point organ chords. In 1997, with the extra people playing, it would have benefited from a more interesting orchestration, as “Everywhere” and “Gypsy” did.
