Stevie Nicks Rock a Little (Hybrid SACD)

[soul_drifter333]

I got a bonus at work and decided to splurge and preordered 3 of these new release Hybrid SACDs from Mobile Fidelity. The Rock a Little came in today and it sounds amazing! It was never one of my favorites, but this sounds so good. Everything is so clear. I can hear things I've never heard before. Stevie in all her warbling glory! The original CD were mastered awful and these sure make up for it. I collected these original masters years ago when I could find them on sale, but it's been a while since I've gotten one. Definitely worth it if you have the money and a decent set of speakers.

They are cheaper on their website then Amazon.

I just listened to my copy I got the other day. It sounds good. I hadn't listened to Rock a Little in years. I actually enjoyed it.

Thanks for the heads up. Placed an order and am so glad to finally be able to chuck the horribly mastered CD I've had forever and a day.
I agree when looking at Stevie's discography as a whole that this album isn't her best (nor is it far from her worst), but for many people of my generation this (and Tango in the Night) was the Stevie Nicks we knew growing up, so there's a major nostalgia factor with this album. I wish Stevie would embrace it more than she does. Despite her disdain for it, the truth is it kept her radio friendly when her life was beginning to circle the drain through her substance abuse. This was a great opportunity for her to revisit the album and, short of redoing it, give her fans a sense of what it could have been by finally releasing (officially) the demos originally intended for the album through an expanded package. Then again she and FM were never great at seizing opportunity when it presents itself.
