It was truly "unexpected" They were doing a mental "Tango"

Not exactly in the spirit of this thread….but over Christmas my daughter was given a Rumours vinyl from a relative. She’s 13. I’ve subtly tried to interest her in FM but not forced it on her and she’s always been ‘too cool’ to acknowledge. Apparently she’s privately expressed to others how much she loves FM. So when she unwrapped rumours vinyl, it was totally unexpected from me. So much pride hearing her in her room with her door shut blasting the opening to Second Hand News. Ahhhh

Now I can start sharing all my vinyls with her, one after the other.

Unexpected!

I love Rooms ON Fire. It's one of her hits that I don't get sick of.

Yes! And they played the whole song!

Well, since I had already read your post, it wasn't unexpected to me, I was waiting the moment to hear it! But basically it was an unexpected decision by the serie team, since they mostly included 80s song during the episodes.

And though I was going to say that my favorite 80s song moment was Neverending Story (S3 finale, that scene was great!!!), now I have to think about it, because ending the show with Bowie's Heroes couldn't have been better. I love that song! And perfect for such an emotional ending. They finished it well.

Today on SiriusXm Big 80s countdown. Top 40 from December 25, 1983.

Love In Store moves up 6 big notches to #27
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers at #28 with You Got Lucky. Really cool video to that song if you remember.

Stevie would get married to Kim this week in 1983 and Honeymoon in Hawaii before going back to the studio to finish The Wild Heart.

It is weird that a marriage decided for the reasons we know had a honeymoon. Well, my personal opinion.

True. Jimmy Iovine talked about The Wild Heart in Hit Parade magazine in 1983. Her marriage interrupted Wild Heart recordings but Jimmy said when she came back from her honeymoon only added to her "exuberant "attitude in the studio. But she also came back with Stand Back the biggest hit from the album. Future advice to Jimmy.......just wait until the next album and see how that exuberant attitude turns out

I'm having dinner at a nice restaurant on my cruise ship, and Songbird is softly playing in the background.
