Default Landslide in Portland

Just saw a video from last night….Stevie lost her place while singing and the audience stepped in to sing it for her. It was absolutely beautiful-but unlike every other artist out there, instead of Stevie standing there enjoying the love the fans were showing her by singing it for her and then start singing when she could find her place…. oh not Stevie- she started talking over the fans singing insisting the band start at the point she dropped. I was stunned. She missed an amazing moment in her tour history. That would have gone viral if she just let the crowd go forward. I just don’t understand her anymore.

She's a legend. A narcissist legend. Just axe her.

Just watched that video. I don't understand what happened, did she choke for a second?

And yes it could be an amazing moment. The audience singing sounded very emotional, it could have been like Queen's Love Of My Life live but she didn't let them.

yep smart artists know when to let a song become a whole different thing with audience participation versus how they recorded it.

Petty did that with Breakdown, stopping on purpose to let the audience sing. Billy Joel does that on Piano Man.

Stevie thinks it takes away attention from her...

I think she just blanked on the words for a second. We all do it at this age. But I agree with the other comment someone left about it taking the attention away from her. Stevie’s comment of “now they are doing it” referring to her FANS was odd. She has been on stage with Tom when his audience has taken over so its not like she didn’t understand that it comes from a place of love. I don’t think she liked it when his fans did it with her on stage but Tom could reign in her ego.

I am starting to understand why she doesn’t really have a deep connection with her fans. It’s hard when the only one you are in love with is yourself.

Really and truly, her life is kinda sad. The girl that the whole world wanted to F, ended up alone, and completely self absorbed, surrounded by paid, yes people.

X is claiming Lindsey was at her show last night (backstage) and could be seen recording her on his phone during Landlide. Here’s the post with a clip:

she's so very slurry on the Landslide video that supposedly shows Lindsey. Her "S"s are just lispy and either her dentures are bad or her meds are off or something.....

I know nothing of her real life or her real friends but if what you say is true then yes, that is very sad.

Homer has no clue what Stevie’s personal life is like, so I wouldn’t feel too sorry for her. She seems happy on stage, despite Homer’s fan fiction account, which is hilarious to read.

Here is the video. Stevie is so funny. She looked at Waddy as if to say HE was the one that messed up. It would have been good to just let the audience play out.

She blames it on not having enough practice when the tour resumed. Gurl how many times have you sung Landslide. You don't need practice. But it was not the guitarist that messed up. It was Stevie that forgot the words

She should have her own show or nigtclub act. That girl is funny

Sit and spin.

Oops, I'm probably too late, saying that.

I'm sure I read here in The Ledge that she forgot the lyric when she started to sing Dreams on the first night of The Dance show on May 1997, and Christine told her Don't worry, even actors forget their lines in plays they've performed in many times, or something like that. So it wouldn't be the first time.

Don also forgot the lyric in the Hell Freezes Over video, and Glenn laughed a lot, I saw that clip in some doc. Though I guess it was in one of the new songs.

I've seen some videos of the Portland show and I see she performs very different than in 2014. Age is unforgiving. Not that I think she's on klonopin again, but it's possible she is taking some analgesic becuase of her shoulder accident. I see her too "calm" in many songs. Obviously we can't expect her to sing like she used to anymore. Though actually her last performances in my mind are from the show I saw in 2014, and 11 years haven't passed in vain. I hope this tour goes well for her, but watching the Portland videos, I had my doubts at times.

When she stated, "they're doing it!", it sounded like she was having a senior's mental blank moment. When she sang "I've been afraid of changing. I haven't!", she literally cut the audience off by ignoring them and spoiled what could of been a beautiful moment! Stevie, please don't cut your audience off! At least we have the memories of when she used to embrace her audiences. Getting older is sad!
