Cool I recall...

an early 80's interview where Macca did not seem to recognize the name Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac until he was told she is one and the same as Christine Perfect (Whom he heard fronting "Chicken Shack" back in the day and remembered fondly as a great musician)...Wished I remembered where I saw that interview.

I have a Mirage era interview CD with Christine & Lindsey. The interview is with Laura Gross. Chris does talk about meeting Paul. She did say he knew her as Christine Perfect. She said that it was a thrill that someone that she idolized actually knew who she was. That whole interview is terrific, by the way. They talked about all kinds of stuff. Chris & Lindsey sounded "very friendly" together during the interview.

I agree. Every time I hear "We Can Work It Out" or "Hello, Goodbye," I can easily hear Christine. Incidentally, I can also hear Stevie (with Christine harmonizing) doing a somewhat obscure song that appeared on Eric Clapton's "Journeyman" album that was written by George Harrison called "Run So Far."

In the "Billy Joel: And So It Goes" doc, Paul says "Just the Way You Are" is a song he wishes he'd written, among other good comments about Billy.

Well this is not a transitive relation nor a syllogism properly. But if Christine likes Paul and Paul likes Billy Joel (I think they performed together at Shea Stadium?), what a Christine album with Billy Joel would have been like. They're both great pianists and songwriters. Just a thought.

By the way, I got around to seeing that on cable a few weeks ago. It’s outstanding — lots of depth, lots of balance, lots of data, and entertaining to boot! It is to rock bio documentaries what The Last Waltz is to filmed rock concerts. Fleetwood has never had a documentary anywhere near this good. I’m not sure they would give themselves over to it. They are far too clinical and distanced and shallow.

Billy Joel gave everything to this show: his intelligence, his honesty, his access, his humor. Naturally, he’s more interesting discussing his earlier years (everybody is).

Stevie would never let the MANY truths of them see the light of day.

I enjoyed seeing the posts from 2004. Macfan57! I miss, Maryanne.

The interview where Christine expresses an interest in working with Paul McCartney is from SONGWRITER magazine, 1984. She had just released her solo album.

I remember buying it when it came out.

It is actually one of the best documentaries I have ever seen.
